BFF Open House

I'm not sure how it's Friday Eve again already! I've been running around every day this week between errands and appointments so I guess that's how. So many in my life are going through some things...sick parents, job change surprises, fire danger, snowstorms...been there and holding them and others facing things in my heart and thankful that things are quiet for me these days.

This week I shared some Valentine's Printables and a great Creative Workshop taking place at the end of the month.

Wishing everyone peace and let's take a look at some great ideas from last week's party!

Try It Like It Create It shared an easy Valentine's Decor idea with this Framed Button Heart

Studio 27 by Jennifer Adams shared how to tie Thrifted Frames together with paint and printables!

Winter is still very much upon us and this Embroidery Hoop Snowman from Creatively Beth adds just the right amount of fun to Winter Decor.

Finally, Crumbl Cookies are super popular but can be pricey! Enter Fat Dad Foodie with a great copycat recipe for Peppermint Bark Cookies

Thanks to everyone who linked up last week and as always, can't wait to see what you've been up to this week!

Free Valentine's Printables

I laughed when I was at the grocery store the day after Christmas and they'd already moved on to Valentine's Day. It seems like we jump from one holiday to the next at light speed from Star Wars and it's no different in the crafting world.

So naturally, since it's January, we're focused on Valentine's, right? I have a few projects I've worked on that I'm excited to share but for now, here are some free printables to get things started.

Creative Fabrica and Procreate!

Would love to see if you use them!

BFF Open House

Greetings all. Sending out thoughts for Southern California as it battles with the current fires. For any Creative Peeps in the affected areas, I hope you and yours have gotten to safety.

With all the scary things going on, I'm thankful to channel some energy into making things. It won't solve the world's problems I know, but can putting some pretty out in the world ever be a bad thing?

On that note, let's take a look at some of the pretty shared at last week's party.

Steph Creates Things shared a perfect project for this time of year when we all try to get organized: A DIY Organizer using things from Dollar Tree that's both pretty and practical.

Selep Imaging shared the stunning Fused Glass Christmas Trees they made after only learning this art in 2024! If you need inspiration to take a class, here you go.

A Ray of Sunlight shared a fabulous furniture makeover: White Farmhouse Tables With Grey Tops. Gorgeous

New Year. Same Chocoholic and these Triple Dark Chocolate Sweet Rolls are calling my name! From Cindy's Online Recipe Box.

Thanks to all who linked up and looking forward to what you have to share this week. Be well!

Winter Decor: Layered Winter Shadowbox

Another Winter transitional decor project...this time a Layered Winter Shadowbox.

Supplies:

  • Layered SVG (Creative Fabrica)
  • Winter Themed Papers
  • Shadowbox Frame
  • Adhesive Foam Dots

I found an image on Creative Fabrica which I downloaded and imported into Cricut Design Space. I sized it to fit my 8x8 shadow box frame and decided I didn't need all the layers so deleted a few using only four of the eight layers.

I used foam dots on the underside of each layer and attached the three cut layers.

Once the layers were assembled, I grabbed some rhinestones and added them to the snowflakes then framed it.

Winter Decor: Dollar Tree Pizza Pan Sign

I decided to do some transitional decor from Christmas to Winter. To start with, I grabbed a Dollar Tree Pizza Pan I had in my stash. Just add some paint, vinyl, and rhinestones!

Supplies:
  • Dollar Tree Pizza Pan
  • Waverly Chalk Paint (Lagoon, Walmart)
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • White Glossy Vinyl (Cricut)
  • Winter Cut File (Cricut Design Space)
  • Rhinestone Embellishments
I was late to this Waverly Chalk Paint I'm now in love with. A little goes a long way and it goes on every surface easily without prep.

I didn't even tape off the rim before painting the center of the pan. A flat brush made it easy to keep the edges clean. I did do two coats for full coverage, drying in between with a hair dryer.

Once the second coat was dry, I used white acrylic paint to dry brush onto the pan.

I found this image in Cricut Design Space and sized to fit my project. I cut it on my Explore using white Cricut Gloss Vinyl. Once weeded and applying the transfer tape, I applied it to the painted Pizza Pan.

Once the vinyl was applied I grabbed some rhinestone embellishments from my stash and decorated as shown.

To display, I used one of these clear easels I found where else...at Dollar Tree!

BFF Open House Happy New Year

Happy 2025 Creative Peeps! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah etc! Ours was sniffly but lovely.  As someone who was in tech during the Y2K preparations, it seems like a lifetime ago already that we entered the twenty-first century and now we're one quarter of the way through it. Surreal!

Mr. Chocolate blew me away with the gift of a Glowforge! I need to prepare my craft room for its place of honor. I both can't wait to play and am still in disbelief!

Wishing you all peace, health, and creativity in this New Year! Let's take  look at some things shared and to pin for next year!

Crazy Little Love Birds shared this lovely Winter Decor Idea!

Hunny I'm Home DIY shared this brilliant idea using Dollar Tree Jenga Blocks to make trees!

The Apple Street Cottage shared this gorgeous idea using Mini Salt and Pepper Shakers as Table Decor.

Steph Creates shared this gorgeous Winter Wonderland using a Recycled Tea Tin!

As always, thank you to all who linked up. I can't wait to see what brilliance you have in store in the New Year!
