Hand Lettering Practice and Coffee Printables

This week's link party continues here

I smile when I read the "About Me" of so many bloggers and see some variation of the statement " I run on coffee". I know there are many bloggers who don't drink it too so no judgement!

But for those of us who do, my unscientific research concludes that it's not just a beverage we consume, it's a life force! I'm no exception. Mochas for me!  Hence my hand lettering practice quote above and some printables I made.

Christmas Printable Fun and My Memories SW Giveaway!

Dear Santa-001

I enjoy making printables and using them in my décor . You can also size to use  for tags or cards or wherever your imagination leads you.

I created this one using the newest version of My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software ($40 value).

They just released a new version and there are lots of fun background papers and embellishments to play with, not to mention tons more fun kits and quick pages that can be found in their online store from the best price of “free” on up. You can import your own photos to pre-designed quickpages, modify them. or start completely from scratch. And you can use any fonts already installed on your computer. So why am I telling you this?

Tis the season to be giving and one of my readers can win their own copy of this fun software!

I'm using Rafflecopter for this giveaway. To enter:

Seussims...Dr. Seuss Printables

With the birthday of  Dr. Seuss (March 2nd)  and the release of the movie “The Lorax” based on his book of the same name coming up, I thought it would be fun to do some Seuss inspired printables.

These are based on a couple of quotes from the late Dr. Seuss aka Theodore Geisel.

Think and Wonder-001

I used My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software and a free font I downloaded, appropriately called “Grinched”.

I love how timeless the stories of Dr. Seuss are, and the great memories we have of reading so many of the books with our son when he was little. Just the other day he tweeted that one of his college Professors started off class with a quote from Dr. Seuss.

I used a different background paper and the same font for this one:

Thanks Dr. Seuss for creating so many memorable characters and a love of reading in so many children and adults!
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”—Dr. Seuss

Social Networking Subway Art Printables

I don’t recall seeing this anywhere but I realize there are few truly original ideas! But with all the Subway Art and printables we see across the blogosphere, I thought it might be fun to have one that represents what we all do ( sometimes too much!). So here are some Social Networking inspired printables I thought I’d share. Not inclusive of every word but the main ones.

They should come to 8x10 when you click on them. Then right click to "Save As". Now I just have to repurpose a frame so I can hang one in my office!

Earth Day Printables

Or they could be for any time of year really. One of our best friends loved that her birthday was the same as Earth Day. She worked with pre-school kids and enjoyed all of the projects they did to learn about recycling, planting etc. She thought it was the best way to celebrate her birthday.  Sadly, we lost her  about 18 months ago.

Last year we mailed wildflower seeds to family and friends to plant in her memory on what we called her  Bearth Day. This year, I’d like to share this printable with all my blog friends. This is for Kris!

And I know...printing something out while talking about recycling seems a little off right? But you could print on the other side of a piece of paper, or print on paper that's made from 100% recycled materials and then of course recyle it eventually!

Update...Jill from Envirocraftiness  says:
Other green ways to use the printable - set it as your desktop picture/profile or facebook picture, put as a button on a blog, or email it around to others! :)

LUCKY I’m In Love With My Best Friend

Happy St. Patrick’s Day whether you’re Irish by ancestry or Irish just for today. There’s the religious history, the folklore history, the modern history, but regardless, there’s the recurring theme of “luck” associated with it so I also view it as a day to celebrate good fortune and things for which I am grateful. Of course that includes the hubs and bubs ( husband and son for those who don’t speak me) whom I tease and joke around with and would be lost without.

I made this to use on a tag for  Mr. Chocolate’s St. Patrick’s Day pot o gold, and am sharing it here as a last minute printable.
Lucky I'm In Love
So with that I wish you:
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way -
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

Three To-Dos In One!

I wanted to make something for a themed link party on Sunday over at the blog For The Love of Life. I needed to make birthday cards for an aunt and cousin whose birthdays are coming up. I was in the mood to play with my PrintshopDeluxe and make a printable (OK that’s seriously becoming an addiction…another one).
SO….I made a printable in the theme of the blog party that I could also resize and print small enough to use as a focal on my cards! Three-fer! Even though I made the printable first, we’ll start w/ the cards.

The stash o stuff to use in the cards which includes K&CO adhesive scrapbook borders ( I have a problem…I admit it and they should just call me and tell me I’m their permanent product tester…just sayin) .

The images I resized from my printables and added some effects / colors to the borders.

Card number one using a scrapbook paper with a sponged pattern, a dark olive scrap and K&Co’s “Poppy Seed” border collection. Close-up of the focal part of the card:

Card number two using the dark olive scrapbook paper, K&Co’s “Flora and Fauna Swirl” pack. Focal part of card:

Had to use some of my hoard stash of blingy rhinestones!
And…if you’d like the printables….they’re yours! I’d love a follow if you download and if you use, would love love love to see how! Click to bring to full size, right click to download / save image as.
