BFF Open House HAPPY NEW YEAR !

New Year's Eve Greetings everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. One of my son's packages finally arrived YESTERDAY! Still tracking the other. It was the one w/ all the homebaked goodies which managed to survive in tact. It was special when he opened one container that was filled with a cookie I only make at Christmas and to see his face on ZOOM as he said "Smells like Christmas".

While I always marvel at the end of a year and wonder how we got there so fast, I don't think many of you will argue about saying "Good Riddance" to 2020. Gina C Creates has some fun NYE props like the "Happy New Year" graphic above if you're looking for last minute ideas. We are doing "Nacho New Year" tonight and will I'm sure be asleep by 10! Whatever you do, Happy Happy.

Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

Satsuma Designs has a great post on ways to celebrate NYE with kids. Love these Faux Fortune Cookies!

Got burned out bulbs? Or maybe pick up some on sale post-Christmas, but Mary Jo from Masterpieces of My Life has THE perfect use for them. Maybe a New Year's Day project to get a jump start on next year!

With all of the extra boxes from this holiday season, that's a lot of cardboard to recycle or re-purpose which makes this idea from Howling Liz just perfect! Cardboard Canal Houses or you could start now on a Faux Gingerbread House for next year!

If you need a last minute dessert for tonight or want to plan ahead, check out this "Death By Peanut Butter and Chocolate" (my preferred way to go) from Marilyn's Treats

Thank you ALL for making 2020 bearable by sharing your creativity and talents here each week. I don't get to comment on every link but I look at them all and am so honored you choose to share your work here.

Be safe! Mask Up! Here's to 2021!

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all! Not sure what went sideways w/ last week's party other than I tried putting it up under the new Blogger and some things worked and others didn't. So...doing this one under the old Blogger. Hope you've all had a peaceful week and are staying safe and masked up!

Liz from Howling At The Moon shared this beautiful crocheted Neo Herringbone Bag. Who can't ue an extra reusable bag! Pattern at link.

Unique Creations by Anita shared a way to transform a "seen better days" plastic statue to look like granite, complete w/some tricks to patch it up if needed. I'm thinking ahead to Halloween and a great way to transform some pieces into a more sophisticated Gothic look.

Christine from The DIY Dreamer shared a beautiful bracelet that her daughter Gabrielle made as part of the gifts she's making for family members. I love the colors she chose and the way it turned out. Looks like the creative apple didn't fall far from the tree !

Finally, July will always be "Harry Potter" month for me. Each year, I look forward to the wonderful creations so many makers come up with to celebrate. These Butterbeer Cupcakes from Marilyn's Treats are no exception!

Now, let's see what you've all been up to this week and thanks for coming!

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve everyone! Hope everyone had a LOVEly Valentine's Day. Let's take a look at some of the fun ideas shared at last week's party.

Whether you make your own or find one already made, Tiered Trays are a fun way to show off a collection or use for storage. The Organized Dream has a roundup of 15 different Spring Tiered Trays to check out.

If you're like me, you take more and more pictures on your phone and then don't do much with them. I really love this idea from Artsy VaVa of using photos to make a lantern. What a great way to remember a special trip or occasion.

We are surrounded by bunnies and not a day goes by where there aren't some playing outside. If you're looking for a different type of bunny, check out this cute Candy Pocket from DIY Party Mom.

This cake is accurately named: Addiction Chocolate Cake because I know once I started, I'd be hooked! From Marilyn's Treats. YUM!

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all. December is slowing down for no one. After losing a week to my back going out the halls are now fully decked and my Christmas and Hanukkah cards are made. Hope all your projects are coming together. I get my best present ever when PhD "Boy" comes home next week!

Here are some ideas from last week's party!

Gnomes are everywhere! I have always loved them and Bird's Party has free templates for these cuties and the best part? They're NO SEW!

The Organized Dream  shared these fantastic Buffalo Plaid Christmas Printables that would be great framed or for the inside of a handmade card.

I adore the name of this project from Artsy VaVa as much as I do the project itself. Scrap wood and paint and you have "Not Your Mama's Christmas Village".

Christmas is the perfect time for a Trifle and Marilyn's Treats has one that looks amazing. Presenting Death by Peanut Butter and Chocolate Trifle!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

A must Pin for next year! These Witch Hats and Broomsticks from Claire Justine are too cute!

These Owl Soap Bars from Handmade Weekly would be a "hoot" to make and give as a hostess gift if you're going somewhere for Thanksgiving .

Finally, I'm always looking for more ways to use my Instant Pot. This Tuscan Chicen Pasta from Pots and Planes is definitely one to try!

OK let's see what all you makers have been up to this week ( and last week lol) !

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve once again . I cannot believe we are staring down the end of May, that it's Memorial Day Weekend already, which means the start of Summer! Before you know it we'll be seeing Halloween stuff. Yikes!

Before that happens, let's take a look at some of the ideas shared at last week's party!

With Memorial Day soon to be followed by Fourth of July , this pillow from Lisa and Fresh Vintage By LisaS is a perfect addition to your decor.

I don't read as much as I used to ( thanks internet) but when I do, I still love holding a physical book in my hands. And that means having a bookmark. I love these from Yarn Scissors Silk which are a great way to use up scraps of ribbon and miscellaneous beads and embellishments.

If you need a dessert for Memorial Day barbecues ( or just because) check out this Bailey's Chocolate Chip Cheesecake from Marilyn's Treats

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday eve all! Week's flown by, almost literally, for me. It was super windy here yesterday and hoping that's done with. Hope you all have had a great week! Who's preparing to watch the last season of Game of Thrones starting on Sunday? Huge fan here.

OK let's have a look at some great ideas from last week's party!

With Easter and Passover approaching, eggs are a big decor item. LOVE these Botanical Eggs from Artsy VaVa!

Look how cute this table setting is from Kippi At Home! You really have to check out all of the ideas for a lovely table and this is the KIDS table!

Thrift store makeovers are one of my faves, and this Farmhouse Sign from The Organized Dream is no exception.

Finally, this would make quite the impression as an Easter dessert don't you think? Espresso  Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce from Marilyn's Treats

BFF Open House Link Party : Chocoholic Edition

Happy Friday Eve all. Hope the week has been good to you. There were some really delicious chocolate ideas shared at last week's party and it's been a while since I did a chocolate themed post so here we go!

First up, how about this Ice Cream Cone Cake from Mrs. Kringle's Kitchen. Layers of wafer cookies and ice cream, enrobed in a delicious chocolate coating!

Next, love Snickers? Love cheesecake? How about a Snickers Cheesecake from Marilyn's Treats? I think I'll have to make this for Mr. Chocolate since Snickers is his favorite candy bar.

If you want S'mores but don't necessarily want to do them outside, check out these S'more Brownie Bowls from A Sprinkle of Joy

Finally, chocolate and caramel are always a winning combination and these Chocolate Caramel Cake Mix Cookies from Family Cookie Recipes are no exception. Look at that ooey gooey caramel middle!

Hope you've enjoyed these. I'll "mix" things up again next week.

Now let's see what you've been up to !

BFF Open House Link Party

Hi all and welcome to another BFF Open House here at The Answer Is Chocolate. Sadness in Casa Chocolate this week as we had to say goodbye to our precious furbaby of 16 years. It's the day every pet parent dreads. She's at peace and not suffering which is all we could possibly want.

Looking through the links from last week's party helped a lot so thank you to all who linked up. Here are a few features!!

Repurpose and Upcycle is back with an amazing DIY Budget Friendly Beach Cottage Mudroom

Satsuma Designs shared the cutest Fairy Camp Party idea, complete with Fairy Houses. This would be as much fun for grownups as for kids and could be easily adapted for a Bridal or Baby Shower or just a girlfriends gathering.

It was Harry Potter's Birthday this week and the 20th Anniversary of the book that  started it all. Harry has been a huge part of our lives and I can never resist a Harry Potter craft idea. These mugs from Surviving A Teacher's Salary are no exception.

Finally , between this week and the fact that this pie applies to me, I had to feature this "Menopause" aka Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Pie from  Marilyn's Treats. Yeah you do all the things you're supposed to ... eat right, exercise, mindfulness but let's be real. When you are a woman of a certain age and your hormones are going full tilt crazy, the answer really is chocolate.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!
