Cardmaking: Easter Bunny Cards

Got my Easter cards finished and sent off to friends and family. And I even used papers I already had on hand from what Mr. Chocolate insists is my "Michaels annex".

Supplies:
  • Bunny SVG File (Creative Fabrica)
  • 110lb Cardstock (Recollections, Michaels)
  • Coordinating Spring Palette Papers (Craft Smith, Michaels)
  • Coordinating Spring Glitter Papers (Recollections)
  • 65lb Foil Cardstock (Recollection)
  • ATG Tape Runner
  • Adhesive Rhinestones

I had this paper stack in my stash and it was perfect for Spring and Easter. It has a mix of foiled and plain abstract papers.

They coordinated perfectly with these foil cardstock papers by Recollections. I cut panels of each, layering the patterned paper atop the foiled as my focal images were cutting on my Cricut Maker.

To make the focals, I uploaded the SVG from Creative Fabrica to Cricut Design Space, sized, and used the offset function to create the foiled paper layer, then the glitter paper for the detailed bunnies.

I attached the glitter layer to the foiled layer using my ATG tape runner, then used foam dots to attach to my layered panels, which I attached to the card using the tape runner. I had fun mixing and matching the foil and glitter layers.

I went monochromatic for some, and contrasted others. To finishe, I added a few adhesive rhinestones!

Finally, I created the inside of the cards in PicMonkey, and off they went!

Happy Friday Eve Creative Peeps. Speaking of Peeps, has there been a PEEPS revival/explosion or what? For non-us folks, they're these little marshmallow bird candies.  I don't know how widely they're known outside the US and maybe Canada.

Everywhere I go I see PEEP themed things. From giant stuffies, to all kinds of toys, clothes, phone cases etc., not to mention the explosion in the variety of actual PEEPS. I've seen Dr. Pepper, Cotton Candy, Birthday Cake, Churro? Maybe I'm just more aware of them because I lost one of my favorite cousins last year and she would spend Easters with us when she was in college and loved PEEPS. I on the other hand...sorry PEEPS eaters.

It's been anothe week of running around, Mom stuff, etc. so I made NOTHING. Finishing up my Easter cards and have been attending a Laser Craft Fest.

Let's take a look at some of the fun ideas shared at last week's party! Wishing you all a very peaceful and creative weekend and Happy Passover to those celebrating.

With gardening season upon us, check out this brilliant Fairy Garden idea from Studio 27 by Jennifer Adams.  Can't we all use more whimsy these days?

LOVE this display and idea from Our Tiny Nest: Bunny Bait! Bring the Easter Bunny out with this fun tempting snack.

Sew Crafty Crochet shared another FANTASTIC creative scarf, perfect for the season, with this Easter Gnome Crochet Scarf. Sew Crafty. Sew cute!

Happy Friday Eve already again! This week's been another busy one, taking me away from my crafting room so nothing new to share. Our warmer weather cooled off a bit but trust me...not complaining. I've gotten very acclimated to desert weather. The only season I don't like is Monsoon season but then, only when I have to go anywhere!

I did manage a stop at Michaels and hit a jackpot of clearance goodies!

Most of the items were $2 and the Bead Landing spool is 16.6 yards of beaded garland! Now I just need time to play with it. The best part? I wasn't even going there but Mr. Chocolate "needed" split rings for something (which turned out to be A SPLIT RING) so it's totes his fault! 😜

There was lots of Spring and Easter inspiration shared at last week's party so let's take a look at some of them!

Steph Creates shared another fabulous Dollar Tree transformation with this Beaded Frame Bunny!

Artsy Va Va shared this incredible Flower Bucket Makeover. Looks like something you'd find at a French Country Market.

Creatively Beth is back with these adorbs 5 Minute Easter Candy Jars. So cute!

Finally, how cute area these Carrot Cupcake Cones from 24 Hour Family? Chocolate cupcakes, of course!

Thank you everyone who linked up. SO much talent and creativity out there.

Happy almost first week of Spring done, and Friday Eve. Spring is definitely here as evidenced by my head being clogged by allergies, sneezing, and we already had our first 90+ day in So. Arizona. Our Spring seems to last a couple of weeks before we're all in shorts and sandals and whining about the heat. 🤣

How in the heck is it the end of March already?! And ugh...can we please just skip April Fool's this year? Reality is foolish enough.

This week I shared:

and was honored to find my Bunny Ornaments featured at this week's

Creatively Crafty Linky Party #242

hosted each Wednesday by Artsy Fartsy Mama and Creatively Beth, both of whom you should follow if you aren't!

Lots of fun Spring and Easter inspiration shared at last week's party so let's take a look at a few!

First time feature from Craft Klatch who shared this fun Rock Candy Vase tutorial! She also shows how to make the matching bowl.

Crazy Little Love Birds shared this adorable Bunny Box Floral Arrangement which is one of my favorite types of projects...repurposing another project!

Speaking of Creatively Beth, she shared these fabulous Egg and Bunny Button Art projects that would be fun to make for home, gifts, craft fairs etc.

Finally, I love this creative take on charcuterie from My Thrift Store Addiction: Vintage Tea Cup Charcuterie which of course includes chocolate!

Thanks to all who  linked up and as always, can't wait to see what you've been up to this week!

Spring and Easter: Straw Carrot Raised Bed Boxes

Whenever Mr. Chocolate asks me "How did you think of THAT?" the answer is always the same: No clue.

Just what my brain does. I found these straw carrots at Walmart the day after Valentine's when they were doing their switchout from Valentine's to Easter. I sometimes wish I was a pushier person because they were unboxing some cute bunny cloches but I didn't want to be that person so I figured "Oh I'll come back". WRONG. Anyhoo...

Back to the carrots.

Supplies:
  • Straw Carrots (Walmart)
  • Wood Boxes (Dollar Tree)
  • Floral Foam (Dollar Tree)
  • Acrylic Paint (White)
  • Ribbon and Paper Roses
  • Moss Bunnies (Dollar Tree)
  • Bamboo Skewers

To the stash closet Batgirl! I knew I had some paper roses and ribbon that would go perfectly with the idea that came from nowhere. Likewise, the wood boxes I knew I'd use for something that I'd picked up from the Dollar Tree.

I have a bunch of those wood cubes from DT so I glued them to the bottom of each box. I then painted each box with one coat of white acrylic paint. I was going for a subtle contrast with the wood and left the cube "legs" bare.

Once the boxes were painted I grabbed my ribbon and used hot glue and tacky glue to attach.

Then I trimmed the stems from the roses and attached with hot glue.

Next, I cut the floral foam to fit and placed inside the boxes. I didn't glue these in so I can deconstruct or re-use if needed.

I grabbed some bamboo skewers from the kitchen because why are they even there?! and inserted them into the bottom of the carrots, cracking myself up mimicking Arya from "Game of Thrones" saying "Stick 'em with the pointy end" but I digress. I then trimmed the skewers to size and stuck them into the foam.

I had some moss left over from something which I used to cover the foam.

To finish, I added a couple of moss bunnies from my stash.
