BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Even and Happy Mother's Day weekend all. Whether you're a mom or a mom figure to someone in your life, wishing you joy and happiness. I won't see my "baby" but my joy comes from knowing that he's working his heart out pursuing his dreams. For me, that's the point of motherhood. OK also knowing that I'll get to see him for a few weeks next month!!

Here are some features from last week's party a couple you can still whip up to celebrate a mom in your life.

From Woods of Bell Trees, how about a Jelly Donut Sugar Scrub?! No calories.

This is not so much of a project as a fantastic idea.  You need to visit Saving and Simplicity to find out what the idea is but I bet you will love it.

The mystery continues with this wonderful necklace idea from Mich in LA. I challenge you to guess what she used to make this. You won't. Trust me. So you'll have to go visit to find out.

Nothing says Spring like digging in the dirt. In this case, these fun dirt cups from Sugar Spice and Family Life

BFF Open House

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all. Welcome to another party. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, maybe a snack and party on!

Some features from last week's party:

I am a total Harry Potter nut ( some would argue just "nut" would suffice). It was a fun part of Grad School Boy's childhood but not gonna lie, I remain an even bigger fan than he ever was. My bucket list includes a trip to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" ( the SoCal one opens today) so this DIY tote bag from Falon Loves Life is all kinds of perfect!

Of course after a long day at a theme park you'll want to pamper yourself so this Orange Blossom Sugar Scrub from Woods of Bell Trees would definitely do the trick.

Love glitter but hate the mess? Then glitter tape is your friend. This card from Paper Seedlings is a wonderful layout that would work for many occasions. And did I mention glitter?

Finally, this week's chocolate feature from Lou Lou Girls: Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. Say that three times fast.

Now for this week's fun:

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Friday Eve once again friends. Time to show off what you've been working on and see some highlights from last week's party.

Let's start off with this fabulous transformation from Doreen at Altered Artworks. I adore what she did with this  100+ year old Secretary desk.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, this Valentine's Countdown idea from Steph at Crafting In The Rain is a wonderful way to mark the days.

Who says bottle brush trees are just for Christmas? Not the guys at Crafty Lumberjacks. See how Andrew and Dennis incorporated these into their Valentine's decor.

These Mini Market Peanut Butter Balls from Heather at Woods of Bell Trees would be perfect for Valentine's Day or, as she shared in her post, for a movie night dessert.

Onto this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all !  Time to link up, visit, and ooh and aahh over each other's creations.

If like me, you're still transitioning from holiday to Winter decor here's a fabulous idea from Much More Creative you'll want to check out. Simple, elegant and fun!

If you're done decorating, how about a new necklace for yourself? I see another trip ( and a confused store employee) to the HW store in my future with this Rustic Copper Washer Necklace from Jewelry Making Journal.

Speaking of jewelry, if you wear a lot of Silver one thing I'm sure you hate is having to polish it. Woods of Bell Trees has some great hints on storage that minimizes tarnish so you can spend less time on polishing and more time on fun stuff!

I think all of us are trying to eat better but if you're like me, it doesn't work when you feel deprived. How could you feel deprived with this single serve Peanut Butter Brownie from Sam at Pancake Warriors ( and how could you not love a blog named for Pancakes?!). Have you heard of Peanut Butter powder? I hadn't but DEFINITELY want to check it out.

BFF Open House Link Party #237: Merry Christmas !

Merry Christmas Eve all! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas. Ready or not, here we are. Opening up the party early. Here are some things you may still have time to squeeze in ( or definitely pin for next year) .

I love all things paper...fom detailed patterns to the simplicity of brown paper. The guys at Crafty Lumberjacks used kraft paper and paint to make this wonderful wrapping paper. I keep a roll of brown kraft paper in my craft room and use it for everything. The simple elegance of this idea is so lovely!

In keeping with a simple, rustic, yet elegant theme, Mich in LA has a fantastic ornament stand that can be made from garden wire! Love the snowflake she has hanging on this one!

Whether for a last minute gift or to have extras on hand for guests, Heather at Woods of Bell Trees has a great way to dress up cork coasters. These could be done in so many ways...not just for Christmas.

I think these would still count as cookies for Santa if you left out Oreo cookie cake pops don't you? Check out Logan Can for the how to .

BFF Open House #233

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday eve all. Can you believe Thanksgiving is one week from today? I really can't. The windy weather here in the PNW is definitely reminding me that it's November.

Here are a few features from last week's party!

Let's start with this festive necklace from Rena a Jewelry Making Journal. Perfect to add to your hostess outfit, make as a gift for your hostess or for Hanukkah or Christmas.

These DIY Apple Tealight Candles would be perfect to add to a Thanksgiving table. The aptly name DIY Homegirl shows you how.

I love this paper Indian Corn project from the guys at Crafty Lumberjacks. You could do all kinds of colors or monochromatic ... so many possibilities!

Looking ahead to Christmas , here's a great idea from Heather at Woods of Bell Trees that is a gift that keeps on giving and is good for the environment. Christmas Tree in a Mug! ( HINT: place your seedling in a plastic cup then put it in the mug so the mug is safe to drink from ).

For a chocolate feature this week, I'm sharing what I'm planning on making as a neighbor gift. From Joan at Chocolate Chocolate and More , Chocolate Pumpkin Pound Cake

Now onto this week's party!

BFF Open House #226 Happy October!

The Answer Is Chocolate

Friends,

I debated about going ahead and posting this week's party in light of today's awful events in Oregon. My thoughts are with the families going through the unspeakable.

Since I'd already let those being featured know they were, I'm going to go ahead and post the party but I understand if this week's traffic is light.

Peace. Love. Chocolate.

Here are some features from last week's party!

Let's start with this layered frame chalkboard Scarecrow project from Much More Creative. Brenda shows how she layered and vintaged up the concentric frames. This would make a fun menu board too wouldn't it?

While Fall is full of rich vibrant colors, and I love them, I also love the muted colors found in nature this time of year. Penny from Penny's Vintage Home has some absolutely gorgeous ideas!

Mason Jars are still so popular and Engineer Mommy has a great idea to incorporate them into Fall and Halloween decorating with this Mason Jar Jack O'Lantern.

To finish things off how about some Snickers Cannoli from Woods of Bell Trees? Yes please!

Now on to this week's party.

BFF Open House #224

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all! September is speeding by just like all the prior months have . Can't believe we are halfway through the month already! Fall is definitely in the air so here are some inspiring ideas from last week's party!

This is a wonderful sign ( love the gold glitter letters) to welcome Fall and have up all season. Becca at Tulips and Orchids has a great tutorial.

I love these pallet pumpkins from Alayna's Creations that are perfect for a front porch.

Here's a slightly different take on a gallery wall from Artsy VaVa....she's been doing needlepoint since she was a girl and has expanded her love for the art to picking up coordinated pieces at antique stores, tag sales, etc. to complete a needlepoint gallery wall.

This week's chocolate feature, just YUM! Mezzaluna ( half moon) Chocolate Covered Pastries from Woods of Bell Trees

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House #223 Pumpkins and Wreaths

The Answer Is Chocolate

Hi all. Hope everyone had a nice Labor day and a good week. Fall is definitely upon us and there were some great ideas shared at last week's party! This time of year it's fun to change out or add a wreath and pumpkins are a decorating essential. I may  not like eating pumpkin but can't get enough of decorating with them!

I have long wanted to make some velvet pumpkins and even saved stems from last year's real pumpkins to use. Heather at Woods of Bell Trees has a great tutorial and I love the colors she chose. These are so elegant and can be out through Thanksgiving!

Logan, at Logan Can shared a great tutorial on how to make a burlap wreath. Think of all the color combination possiblities with ribbons you can use!

If you want a little spookier look, Rhonda at The Messy Roost has the perfect idea using eyeballs from Dollar Tree!

I agree with Rhonda. The "eyes" have it!

Who says pumpkins have to be round? I love these 2x4 pumpkins from Alayna's Creations. Again so many possibilities...paint, paper, stencil...all three?

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House #220

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all! I know several of you are busy with back to school or getting ready for back to school. I'm ready for it to be Fall. I'm ready for boots and sweaters. Don't hate me!

Thanks for continuing to share such great creations and ideas. Last week was no exception!

Alayna's Creations shared something that's beautiful, thoughtful and timely. I don't think any of us are untouched by cancer somewhere along the way and she made this beautiful gift basket to cheer up a family friend. I have to do a close up of one of the things she included because I just learned about a friend of mine's diagnosis and need to do something similar!

The always creative Mich in LA shared beautiful "Victorian Mod" jewelry. Being the overachiever that she is, not only did she make some gorgeous pieces, she made the fused glass pieces she used in the jewelry!

Isn't this beautiful? Unlike mere mortals like me who just buy the fused glass pieces, she made hers!

This woman never ceases to amaze me.

Speaking of amazing, how about this stenciled wooden window cornice from Bharati at Techie's DIY Adventures! I have an inlaid box that looks similar to this. She captured the depth and dimension so well.

How scrumptious does this look ! Double Chocolate Butter Cookie No Churn Ice Cream from Woods of Bell Trees!  Did I mention NO CHURN??? If you can't have / don't like chocolate you can just forego the cocoa powder.

OK now on to this week's party!
