BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all and to all of you in the path of the Polar Vortex...I hope you're staying inside, warm, pipes aren't frozen etc.  PhD Man ( Son ) is smack in the center of it in Chicago and despite is telling him to stay put yesterday just had to go pick up his comics that are released every Wednesday.  Layered up in long underwear, two layers of pants, four shirts, his heaviest coat, boots, scarves two hats and a hood lol. Reminded my of the little brother from "A Christmas Story"

Image result for a christmas story can't put my arms down

I guess you don't want to hear it's in the high 60's 70's here in the desert? Don't worry. We'll get ours in the Summer when we're living on the Sun.

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

If you're looking for last minute ideas for your Super Bowl party this weekend, Leslie over at From Play Dates to Parties has got you covered with free printables!

If you're not much into the big game and want to craft something, Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has a great upcycle. Perfect for any leftover gift tins you may have from Christmas.

Check out these faux leather earrings from Try It Like It.  These were made using the Cricut Maker but could also be done either freehand or using dies I'm sure.

Finally, one thing I really want to do is be able to attend a blog conference or two.  A Labour of Life has taken the time to help us all out and make a list of upcoming conferences. I recently attended a blogger meetup in advance of Creativation and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow creatives and bloggers and I look forward to doing more of it!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope you've had a great and creative week. In this month of gratitude, I'm thankful for many things. This week it's some good news about my mom's health at a recent Dr. visit. As always, thankful for all of you who choose to share your creative talents here on my little corner of the internet.

Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

I'm always down for a good wreath project and this Drop Cloth wreath from Play Dates to Parties is one that can be up year round.

Printables are such a great way to change things up and bring a little seasonal decor in without to much fuss. This is a beautiful one for Fall from Clearwater Cottage

Got fabric scraps ? That means you could easily whip up this cute Fabric Turkey Wall Hanging from Adventures Of A DIY Mom

Finally, I know some of you are already decorating for Christmas or planning your Christmas decorating. There are some AMAZING ideas here from Satsuma Designs

Now let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday eve all! Here's to another weekend on the horizon. Weekends are the best aren't they? When someone says "How was your weekend"? my answer is usually : "It was the WEEKEND so by definition, awesome".

Fall is definitely in the air ( even though temps here are still 100+) so let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party.

Vignettes and tablescapes do so much to change the mood of a room. I love this gorgeous Fall display from Faeries and Fauna which includes instructions for how to layer your pieces for the best look.

If you want to bring a little Fall color into your home, love this idea from The Red Painted Cottage ( and I'm in super love with that galvanized basket).

Is it bad when you see an idea and immediately think "Now I have a reason to buy what I just saw at Michaels last weekend"? Does this happen to anyone else? Fess up! My Michaels has a whole collection of labware for Halloween and these Mocktails from From Playdates to Parties would be just the thing to fill the beakers I thought about getting but wasn't sure why and now have a reason to get...I digress.  You could make Appletinis if you want to change this to an adult beverage.

Finally, I love the vintagey goodnesss of this Reverse Canvas sign from Vintage Paint and More, especially the ombre coloring of the letters.

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve and the start of what I hope is a lovely Mother's Day weekend. I won't be with my "baby" but I'm so excited that for the first year in many I get to celebrate with The Mumster.

Let's take a look at some fun ideas from last week's party.

I feel like you can never have too many memo boards. Whether for reminders or pictures, there's always something you want to display. Hazel and Gold Designs has this fun idea (and a video tutorial) for one using bent wire formed into a word. Think of all the possibilities! Names, favorite places etc.

I tend toward matte finishes so I love the look of chalk paints. From Play Dates to Parties  has 4 great project ideas using chalk paint.

I love that Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S figured out what to do with Vintage Glass Insulators that I've picked up and put down at flea markets a million times. Check out her adorable bottle and light garden!

Finally, YUM check out this did I say YUM Oreo Parfait from A Sprinkle of Joy! Yes please.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve once again. I know that Spring has gotten lost on its way to several parts of the country so hopefully some of these Spring inspired features will tide you over until it gets there.

Freshvintagebylisas has a fun way to combine kitchenware and gardening by re-purposing kitchen pieces as planters. Fun indoors or out!

Similarly, Simple Nature Decor shared what she did with some fabulous old dairy containers by using them as planters. I love their vintage chippy rustiness!

With Mother's Day fast approaching, From Playdates to Parties has a wonderful garden themed brunch idea that is perfect for indoor or outdoor entertaining.

Finally, being a desert dweller now, I couldn't resist this adorable Crocheted Cactus Garden from Sew Crafty Crochet

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party : Farewell 2017

Hard to believe that we are at the end of 2017, but here we are. Thank you all, old friends and new, who have made coming to my little party a part of your weekly activities. I truly enjoy seeing all of your inspiration and creativity and appreciate you taking the time to share it here.

Wishing all of you, my wonderful "Chocaholic" followers, health, happiness, and continued creativity in 2018!

Whether you're going out or staying in, here are some ideas from last week's party that are perfect for New Year's Eve!

Let's start with this festive Creamy Apply Mocktail (non-alcoholic) from Play Dates and Parties! Whether the adults don't drink or you want something kid-friendly, it's perfect.

If you are looking for an adult beverage , Leslie's also got you covered with this Peppermint Mochatini cocktail and this

that Craft Beering shared on Leslie's blog.

Of course you can't have cocktails ( or mocktails) without appetizers. These oney Sriracha Kabobs from Looney For Food look delicious.

Ask Dr. Ho shared a recipe for a tasty Mushroom Herbed Cheese Bruschetta

And Baked Brie is always a great appetizer. This one from All That's Jas topped with nuts and cranberries looks spectacular.

Whatever you're doing this NYE, stay safe and have fun! Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week.

BFF Open House Link Party

Not going to lie. Will be glad to say goodbye to October. Between being sick, having to start physical therapy and my mom having taken a fall, October can be gone! But on the upside,October has been filled with great Halloweeen and Fall projects shared by the awesome attendees who come to my little party and this has been THE bright spot in an otherwise icky month!

Let's see some great ideas from last week!

Pumpkins in decor carry us through November. I adore these Glitter Glass pumpkins shared by Mary Jo from  Masterpieces of My Life. She got a PB look w/ out a PB price!

Another fun and inexpensive pumpkin idea is from Chas's Crazy Creations . She used a Dollar Tree pumpkin and lights and I can see all kinds of possibilities that would be perfect for November projects!

I have a love-hate relationship with pies. I love making them. I hate cutting them. I can rarely get a piece of pie out of the dish without destroying it. So these Mini Pumpkin Pies from From Play Dates to Parties are a perfect solution. Plus they make for easy transportation of leftovers!

Before we leave Halloween though, here are a couple of  chocolatey treats you still have time to make!

Love these adorable Witches Brew Bites from Manic Mama of 3

And if you're the kind of person who manages to have leftover Halloween candy ( much respect!) or you pick up a few bags on sale after Halloween, Pin these :

from Sugar Spice and Family Life. I'm always looking for ways to bring chocolate to Thanksgiving. The colors of these are perfect!

Now, let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve once again. Sadly once again it's a week where we're watching awful devastation from nature. To those in the path of Irma, Jose, still recovering from Harvey, dealing with fires in the West, be safe and smart! No material things ( not even craft supplies) are worth it!

Let's take a break and see what everyone's been up to as we gear up for Fall.

What better way to prepare for Fall than with a new wreath? Leslie from Playdates to Parties has got you covered with a roundup of ideas.

If you're still enjoying some outdoor weather but transitioning to Fall, check out this idea from My Thrift Store Addiction. Coffee and cupcakes? Yes please!

Fall is the start of candle season to me. Sure they are year round but those cooler and darker earlier months are perfect for a cozy glow from candlelight. Chas' Crazy Creations has a wonderful way to display a Fall Candle. The secret's in the corn!

And for this week's chocolate feature, what's better than a frosted chocolate cupcake? A frosted chocolate cupcake with a BROWNIE inside! From Sugar, Spice, and Family Life

Now on to this week's party! Thanks for being here.

BFF Open House Link Party

"Fri-nally" is my newest favorite word. Or almost "Fri-nally" since it's Friday Eve. Who's looking forward to a long weekend since I'm guessing many of us are calling Monday a holiday in addition to Tuesday?

Let's see some ideas from last week's party in honor of the upcoming 4th of July holiday?

This is just one idea included in a roundup of 4th ideas that was shared by Jenny Louise Marie. You really want to check out the others!

From Playdates to Parties also shared a great roundup of ideas!

When I first saw these fab earrings from Mich in LA I thought they were red white and blue but they would still be lots of fun to wear to a 4th of July BBQ yes?

How's this for a festive desssert? A Patriotic Brownie With a Pretzel Crust from Marilyn's Treats. YUM!

Wishing you all a safe and happy 4th. Now on to this week's party!
