Papercrafting: Layered Easter and Passover Cards

I was finally able to make some things and wanted to share the Easter and Passover cards I made for friends and family. I will forever be a snail mail girl!

Supplies:
  • Scrapbook Papers (I used coordinating pastel-colored stacks)
  • 110 Pink Cardstock (Recollections)
  • Digital Images (Creative Fabrica and Cricut Design Space)
  • Digital Cutting Machine (Cricut Explore Air 2)
  • Tape Gun
  • Foam Squares
  • Self-Adhesive Rhinestones

Whenever Michaels has deals on their paper stacks, I stock up so I can coordinate things when I'm making a project. I had these "Spring Inks" and "Spring Pastels Glitter" stacks in my stash and since they're both by Recollections, they coordinated perfectly. I also used Recollections 110lb cardstock for the base which went with these colors.

I cut the pink cardstock to size for 5x7 cards (10x7), scoring down the middle. Then I selected some foiled sheets from the Spring Inks stack and cut 6x4 panels. I used some mirrored cardstock cut 6.75x4.75 (also Recollections) to mat these panels.

I found a layered image from Creative Fabrica (I am a subscriber) and downloaded, imported into Cricut Design Space, sized, and then cut each layer. The base layer was done using the solid sheets from the Spring Inks stack. The second (top) layer, I cut from the glitter paper.

I used a spray adhesive to attach the glitter layer to the solid, and then used foam squares to attach the bunnies to the panels.

I could have stopped here, but what fun is that? I decided I wanted to add another layer to the carrot and then figured since I was cutting carrots, I cut extras!

This image also came in two layers so I cut one from green mirror cardstock and the other from coppery orange glitter. The tops were close enough to the top of the bunny's top layer, so I layered as shown using foam squares.

To finish, I went around the inside of the bunny's ears with tiny self-adhesive rhinestones.

Passover begins this week as well. I used the same papers to make these cards. I found another layered image at Creative Fabrica and followed the same process. This image came in more layers, a total of 7 of which I used 5. You can see the first three (silver, metallic blue, and lavender) which I adhered together using spray adhesive and then attached to the turquoise glitter panel with foam squares, doing the same to attach to the gold panel.

I used the same basic process to make the base cards.

I love how all of the layers of this cut file allow peeks here and there through the different layers!

Whatever you're celebrating, I wish you peace! And of course...CHOCOLATE!

Happy Friday and April Eve,eve! I think people either love April Fool's Day or they hate it. Count me among the latter, but if you love it, I hope your pranks are well met! Can you believe it's April already? March is going out like neither a lion nor a lamb here in the high desert. Windy but sunny.

I've been attending the Crafting Adventure Summit I mentioned a few weeks ago, getting inspiration for some things I want to try and learning more tricks for my Cricut machines. I applaud those who put these on and develop content for them. Truly labors of love and sharing their creative passion.

Finished up my Easter and Passover cards which I'll share next week. Let's take a look at some of the inspiring ideas for these holidays from last week's party!

There's just something about moss bunnies. This collection and Tiered Tray from Penny's Passions is a lovely way to display them!

Another gorgeous Tablescape in Blue (and more moss covered bunnies!) was shared by Bluesky at Home.

You could make a whole garden of these Candy Flower Treats from Whitehouse Crafts

Finally, Cindy's Online Recipe Box is back with this delicious-looking Flourless Chocolate Cake whch is perfect for Passover since no leavening, for those who are gluten-free, or for any time!

Thank you to everyone who linked up and here's hoping Mother Nature keeps "April Showers" to an appropriate level!

Happy Friday Eve and Happy Spring...officially! Hope everyone had a safe and fun St. Patrick's Day and is easing into Spring without too many allergies. Can't believe we're winding down March already which seemed to just get here.

We're discovering that Tucson is quite the arts city and went to a market last weekend featuring all Tucson artisans only to find out that there's another even bigger market this weekend with vendors from all over!

Spring holidays are upon us with Ramadan having started,  Passover and Easter on the horizon. Let's take a look at some Spring ideas from last week's party!

This Spring Picket Fence Bunny from The Apple Street Cottage is just adorable!

This Simple Spring Centerpiece from The House on Silverado is equally perfect for Spring!

If you have a Spring birthday to celebrate, check out this DIY Minnie Mouse Pinata from Simple Joys. So pretty! Easily done as Mickey, too!

Finally, I've never tried a chocolate scone but these look amazing! Chocolate Scones with Chocolate Drizzle from Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Hello and Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve! Seen any Leprechauns about?  I wish everyone good luck in finding a pot of gold! I also want thank whoever created Allegra aka fexofenadine because having been put on it almost a week ago has been my personal pot of gold! You never realize how ick you've felt until you feel better, ya know?

May even venture out to a handmade market this weekend! Let's take a look at some of the ideas from last week's party, first!

With Easter on the horizon, now's the time to start making some beautiful eggs like these Decoupaged Eggs from Blue Sk At Home. So pretty!

Here's another gorgeous take on eggs...Stamped Clay! Shared by Saved From Salvage

What Easter meal wouldn't be made even better with this Black Pepper Foccacia from Foodnutters

Finally, Mr. Chocolate keeps going on about a "green thing" an Aunt of his made for family gatherings that was not nearly as pretty or elegant as this Pistachio Lush Dessert from The Kitchen Is My Playground. This might serve in its place!

Greetings all and happy Friday Eve. March is marching and we're about a week out from St. Patrick's Day. Not that we go out exactly but still...fun to be on the lookout for Leprechauns, right? I won't bore you with more tales of allergies laying me out.

I got a lovely boost to my foggy-headed mood when Amanda from Hometalk let me know that they're featuring my Dollar Tree Wood Bead Wreath in an upcoming newsletter. It's always lovely to be recognized and know that something you created inspired someone, isn't it? That's why I love hosting a link party.

I also want to share another wonderful workshop I signed up for taking place March 28-Apr 1:

This is a five-day FREE online workshop featuring 39 Cricut Craft demonstrations by some very talented creators. All of the details can be found here. If you own a Cricut (or another digital cutting machine because the workshop files are usually SVGs that work on multiple machines), are considering one and want to see what you can do with them, it's a great FREE way to learn some things.

Now, let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party!

With Easter approaching, these stunningly elegant Wood Eggs from The House on Silverado are a must check out!

Likewise, this Tobacco Basket Makeover from Artsy Va Va is perfect for Easter or Spring decor!

But first, St. Patrick's Day and this fun batch of Leprechaun Bait from Our Tiny Nest looks like tons of fun to make!

Finally, these Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Shamrock Cookies from Me and My Inklings make a great treat for Leprechauns big and little!

Thank you to everyone who linked up and can't wait to see what you've been up to this week.

Happy Friday Eve and happy MARCH! Yikes. The transition from January to February never evokes any real emotions for me. But from February to March just seems so seem so much more extreme. Then again, woke up to SNOW in the desert this morning so I'm completely confused about what season it is.

Nothing new to share this week. Weather inconsistencies have my allergies and asthma sucking all of my energy. It's weeks like this that I especially love looking at everyone's creations. So here we go!

Given what's outside my window, this GORGEOUS Deer In a Clearing card from Paper Seedlings is perfect!

Who doesn't love a good Dollar Tree upgrade project? I know I do and this one from Steph Creates is a perfect Winter to Spring transition.

This adorable Leprechaun Selfie Wreath from Creatively Beth is perfect for a St. Patrick's day get-together or perfect for a classroom!

Finally, how perfect for St. Patricks are these Irish Coffee Donuts from Cindy's Online Recipe Box?!
