BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Hi all and happy Friday Eve. Hope those of you in the hotter than hot parts of the country are managing to stay cool. I'm very thankful that our PNW weather has returned to some sanity after a few years of very un-PNW heat waves!

Here are some features from last week's party I hope will inspire you!

Doreen from Altered Artworks finds the BEST things to re-purpose. This kitchen rack is no exception.

And Raven Would shared this gorgeous DIY wood batik wall decor piece. LOVE!

If you're looking to stay cool, you can't go wrong with these DIY popsicle recipes from One Little Project . YUM

And what's Summer without ice cream? And what's ice cream without hot fudge? I mean it's like Ethel without Lucy! I may or may not have even eaten hot fudge with NO ice cream.  Pat and Candy have you covered!

Now on to this week's party!

The Answer Is Chocolate

Friday Eve again and how is it already several days into July?! Hope everyone had a lovely 4th. Our weather was not exactly Summery and they're now calling July "Jultober". Haven't quite figured out what that means but pretty sure it means rain rain rain.

Let's see some wonderful ideas from last week's party:

If you need a dose of sunshine in your life this Summery Lemon yellow cart from Altered Artworks should do the trick. What a great find and makeover!

Another thrifted makeover shared was this Milk Can from Raven World. Would love to find one of these!

One Little Project  shared this easy peasy DIY Whiteboard. These are great and green and save on post its!

This week's chocolate feature combines two of my faves: Chocolate and a quote about chocolate from one of my favorite movies! From Sweet Meets Bake Shop Life's Like a Box of Chocolates Brownies!

OK on to this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve everyone. Hope the week has been kind to you. Summer is gearing up and since I haven't done features for a couple of weeks I have some extra ones this week from the last two parties. Let's get right to them!

Summer means lots of movement between indoors and outdoors right? Carrying things out to patios and decks. So this tray  makeover from Altered Artworks is perfect. I know some of you will recognize the before of these trays and might even raid your parents basements to see if they have any!

These DIY Citronella candles would go perfectly with the trays wouldn't they?  From One Little Proejct

Speaking of candles and Summer, love the bold graphics of this one from Crafty Lumberjacks. Make a set to give as gifts using all four seasons!

This bold ampersand project goes well with the candle doesn't it? See Lynda Creates for the details. She used a Sizzix die but if you have a Cameo or Cricut I bet those would work too.

I could see this Carousel Jewelry organizer hanging next to the project above! Love the vintagey goodness of a transformed cabinet door used as the base. Visit The Navage Patch for the how-to.

With Fourth of July approaching, check out this awesome flag project that Artsy Va Va did with a broken Adirondack chair. Nothing goes to waste in this woman's hands.

Finally, with all the Summer entertaining, decorating, re-purposing etc. you're going to need a super Summer dessert. Look no further than this Oreo cheesecake from Lou Lou Girls. YUM!

OK on to this week's party !

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all. Hope everyone had a very Happy Valentine's Day and a great week. Back with features this week. Even though Valentine's Day is over, it's never too late to pin for next year or to show someone some love whenever right?

Much More Creative shared this fun altered Love Potion  bottle. Change up the paint colors and embellishments and you could have a different kind of potion bottle for Halloween!

You wouldn't guess that this Valentine block from Artsy Va Va started out from wood scraps from her husband's shop. Salvage everything!  In keeping w/ my Valentine's to Halloween transition ( where that came from I don't know) you could easily do this with a pumpkin instead of a heart and change the background papers.

Sugar Spice and Family Life shared these delicious and pretty Chocolate Peanut Butter hearts. Who wouldn't love a bunch of these any time of year!

Speaking of Chocolate and Peanut Butter, One Little Project At A Time shared these Chocolate Heart Peanut Butter cookies and for those of you who are gluten sensitive, they're even gluten free!

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all and how oh how can it possibly be the last weekend of  January already?! Here are some fantastic ideas shared at last week's party.

Only Artsy VaVa could upcycle a piano! If not only her, she's one of very few who could pull it off. Upcycle. A. Piano.

Speaking of repurposing or upcycling etc. check out this lap tray from Altered Artworks! It's so pretty I wouldn't want to set anything on top of it.

Paper Seedlings shared the most gorgeous card using a detailed die cut. Isn't it beautiful?

Finally, One Little Project At A Time shared an incredible Valentine's Cupcake Roundup. If you can't find a cupcake idea here, it doesn't exist.

Onto this week's party! Hope you all had a wonderful first month of the year.

BFF Open House #229

The Answer Is Chocolate

Crunch time people! One week until Halloween! Did I scare you :)

Here are some features from last week's party...still time!

Adults love Halloween too. Sometimes I think more than the kids do. One Little Project has an AMAZING collection of party ideas for grownups!

Want a more sophisticated pumpkin look for a thrifty price ( I'm NOT looking at you Pottery Barn)? How about combining metallic paint and chalkboard like Engineer Mommy did to transform a Dollar Store pumpkin?

Transform plain muslin bags into fun ( or personalized) treat bags. Loving these from Much More Creative. She made her own but you can pick up plain muslin or canvas bags from lots of places. These have so many possibilities!

This week's chocolate feature is actually not from the party but one I want to try that I found at Kraft. How about a sludgy chocolate martini? The glasses are rimmed with crushed Oreos! Yum.

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House #225

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all! How is it possible it's the last full week of September? It's officially Autumn and I can't wait to start decorating for Fall holidays!  Here are some highlights from last week's party!

Nothing says Fall to me like copper, whether it's the metal itself or the color. These fun DIY copper earrings from Jewelry Making Journal are perfect for crisp cool Fall days.

Here's a wonderful way to welcome Fall along with houseguests, new neighbors or just a fun gift for friends or family. A DIY  wood Pumpkin box from the lovely ladies at Lou Lou Girls. Wouldn't this also make a fun trick or treat box?

You have GOT to check out this painted window from Artsy VaVa! I am in swooning love with it.

And with Fall bringing an explosion of pumpkin recipes, how about these pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from One Little Project At A Time?

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House #213

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve and Fourth of July Weekend all! It is uncharacteristically HOT here in the PNW. We are not equipped for this. That may be part of what influenced this week's features because they're all things perfect for Summer entertaining.

Let's start with a loaded potato salad. Perfect side dish for picnics, potlucks, cookouts etc. ! Visit Gator Mommy Reviews for the recipe.

How refreshing does this Blackberry Limeade look?! Perfect for a hot day. Visit Upstate Ramblings for the how-to.

These Strawberry Brownie Skewers from One Little Project look divine , look like a lot more work than they are, and did I mention look DIVINE?

Speaking of brownies ( because really, can you ever speak of brownies too much? ) how about these  Jumbo Brownie Cupcakes from Engineer Mommy? Yes please.

OK on to this week's party!
