BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all! How are we already past the middle of January? Time is a trickster. One minute it seems like something that happened 10 years ago you think of as five. The next, the present flies by in a rush. I stay with the Dori mantra from "Finding Nemo": "Just keep swimming..."

Had fun making decorations for what has become my year round celebration tree which I shared in this post: Valentine's Decor: The Year Round Tree.  I was also excited to be featured in one of Hometalk's newsletters this week with this post: Valentine's Lanterns. If you're not a member of Hometalk (or their sister sites Upstyle Daily and Foodtalk) you should be! Lots of inspiration and even better, very informative and helpful support for bloggers!

Lots of wonderful projects shared at last week's party as always, so let's take a look at a few!

Junk Journal shared this great Goodwill find and transformation into a wonderful sign!

With Valentine's approaching, whip up a bunch of these GORGEOUS hearts shared by Crafts A La Mode. Did I mention they hold a little treat?

Whether you're looking for an alternative to candy or just trying to be more organized, these Magnetic Sticky Note Holders from Keeping It Real are easy to make!

Finally, if you need a decadent dessert idea for Valentine's Day (or anytime) you have to check out these Dark Chocolate Butterfinger Brownies with Butterfinger Frosting from Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Thank you to everyone who linked up and let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve once again and welcome back to another fun party here at The Answer Is Chocolate. I hope everyone's had a great week and survived the changing of the clocks.  We don't change here in AZ but we do get confused about what time it is everywhere else.

We are already almost mid November with American Thanksgiving (I had Canadian colleagues who trained me well) two weeks from today! My mom will be spending the holidays back east with her sister and while we'll miss her, I think this is a fabulous opportunity to do something she hasn't done in forever.

I had a ton of fun with girlfriends at a "Candle Bar" last weekend. Check out the details here: Light and Bark Candle Company and got my Thanksgiving cards done which you can see here

Lots of festive Fall goodness shared at last week's party. Let's take a look at a few ideas!

Can you tell I'm in love with yarn based pumpkins? I just think they look so cozy. This herringboned patterned one is from Howling Liz

This DIY Long Box from Thrifting Wonderland is one of those pieces that can stay out all year round and be updated seasonally. PERFECT for the holiday season and I'm picturing it filled with everything from mini gourds to bottlebrush trees, ornaments and greenery, paperwhites, amaryllis...you get the idea!

Speaking of bottlebrush trees, check out this ingenuity from Junk Journal who used vintage doorknobs as their base!

Finally, if you're looking for a star addition to your Thanksgiving dessert table, look no further than this pretty Pumpkin Caramel Trifle from The Kitchen Is My Playground! She just keeps coming up with amazing desserts!

Thank you as always to all who linked up and can't wait to see what you've been up to this week!

So many Happys this week! Happy March! Happy National Craft Month! Happy Spring! Hopefully the worst of Winter is over and Spring is around the corner. Both exciting and hard to believe that we're already into the third month of the year. Even harder is that it's been a full year of COVID but let's not talk about that except to celebrate that hopefully we're starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

OK you creative peeps! So many wonderful ideas shared last week. Here are a few to get you in full Spring mode!

Maybe you have an old piece of silverplate like this stashed away in a cabinet. I know I'm going to look for one next time I get the chance because I love these non-traditional Easter Baskets from Junk Journal. Perfect for any decor from Farmhouse to Contemporary.

These Paper Butterflies from Priyam at Simple Joys just scream Spring don't they? Perfect for everything from garlands to package toppers.

Linda, from Paper Seedlings made this adorable Name Sign for her grandson Enzo, whose name I love. I think it's such an adorable keepsake to treasure!

Is it a Donut? Is it a Cake? It's a Giant Chocolate Fudge Brownie  Donut Cake! Perfect for St. Patrick's Day, a Spring shower (as in baby or bridal) or anytime! From Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Finally, this one hits home. Trinidadian Pepper Sauce from Kiku Corner. I grew up with this. There was always a jar of this on the table in my family's and extended family's homes. It was often a bit of a trick test when new people said they liked spicy food. We would watch as people took too much (after being warned) and then they proceeded to melt. Literally. This is extra special to me because the recipes my family had were never written down. There were always promises to but the elders were not so good at following through and the last person who could have shared, we've lost to dementia. So this is extra special to me.

Alright! Let's see what you've all been up to this week and as always, thank you to everyone who linked up!
