Jewelry Making: Copper and Silver Chain Earrings

I have a bunch of jewelry supplies left over from a stint on a design team. Of course, that doesn't mean I haven't or won't continue buying more but I wanted a pair of earrings that were "Fall" now that it's actually feeling like it here in the desert. I primarily wear silver but decided to branch out and use some copper. I was in Michaels (see...impossible not to add new supplies!) and saw some copper earring pieces ON SALE and remembered some chain I had in my stash.

Supplies:
  • Copper Earring Components (Michaels)
  • Copper and Silver Chain (Stash)
  • Clip Earring Backs (Michaels)
  • Silver Floral Charms (Shipwreck Beads)
  • Jewelry Glue or Super Glue (Aleene's Jewelry Glue, Walmart)

NOTE: I don't have pierced ears, hence the clip on backs. To get the same look for pierced ears, use post style findings to glue to the floral charms.

The chain I used also had gold links. Since I don't really wear much gold, I removed these and set them aside for other projects.

After taking off the gold links, I separated six sets of three links using just the copper and silver.

Each earring component can hold three sets so I did silver, copper, silver for the ends and copper, silver, copper, for the center.

The earring components came with their own jump rings which I used to attach the trio of links.

At this point you could attach fish hook ear wires.

With the earring backs glued to the charms, I attached these to the earrings using a silver jump ring from my stash, et voila!

I love the copper for "Fallvember" especially since I always associate Fall with copper.

Copper and Gold Metal Bead Bracelets

Copper and Gold Bracelets

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. For me, it’s having your son’s friends ask “Do you think your mom would make me a bracelet?” Uh SURE?!  What better combination than being part of a design team for a bead company, loving to make things, and having a kid who likes to wear your stuff?
For these I used copper and antique gold metal beads from Blue Moon Beads. The colors are perfect for Fall.

Simple projects. Beads and stretchy cord.

BMB Amulet

I remembered that I had this little amulet in my BMB supplies and the antique gold went perfectly. Added it to one of the bracelets using a jump ring.

For the other bracelet, I used some leftover metal beads from my stash .

Copper and Blue Tassel Necklace and Teardrop Earrings

Blue Moon Copper and Blue

I’ve been on a blue kick lately. Sharing this birthday present I made using copper chain and shades of blue beads. All supplies are from Blue Moon Beads for which I am a design team member. Design is my own.

Copper and Blue Necklace

The necklace is a single woven chain in hues of copper with a little silver so I used silver jump rings and silver rimmed blue beads throughout along with copper and light blue tinted pearl embellished charms.

Blue and Copper Pendant

The pendant is a combination of the copper and pear charms, the blue beads, and extra chain.

Blue Moon Blue and Copper Earrings

For the earrings, I used the same light blue beads from the necklace along with teardrop glass beads in variegated shades of blue.
