My First Official Silhouette Cameo Project

OK technically my second, but I didn’t think using it to decorate CoCo counted.

I love handmade paper. A little too much perhaps. I love it like some people love fabric and can’t resist the temptation of so many gorgeous patterns. I walk into places like Paper Source and just stand there drooling. They cut a wide path around me!

The thing is….I love to collect it and then freeze at the idea of cutting it up. Silly huh? But it’s sooooo pretty. I can't cut it up!!! I’m facing my fears and determined to use it this year!

Framed Bird Wall Art Supplies
Supplies:
  • Sheet of handmade paper . I fell in love with this grey / yellow / silver combo.
  • Last of the Goodwill $.99 frames from Pottery Barn from last year’s score. Like these so much I haven't even painted them.
  • Vinyl.
I’ve had fun downloading images from the Silhouette online store for CoCo. A girl needs choices right? I picked a fun tree and a bird image. I originally cut both in white but decided I wanted a contrast so cut the bird from grey vinyl. This machine is so easy to use it makes me feel like a lazy guilty crafter!

Cut  the handmade paper to size, framed it, and applied the vinyl on top of the glass.

And since I dare not waste any of this gorgeous paper, I made a layered paper flower from the scraps:

Easy peasy and will be a nice addition to my powder room.

I feel the same way about fabric. I have such a hard time cutting it that I want to make sure I save it for the perfect project and then end up hoarding it and never using it. I love the silver/grey/yellow combo. Probably my favorite color combo right now. Nice work!

Very Pretty! I have a tiny obsession with pretty paper too (shh... don't tell my husband)! I have the "other" cutting machine but I really have a lot of fun working with vinyl. Look forward to seeing more of your pretty paper projects. AJ@queenofmynest

Adorable, Carol! I would be timid to cut up that gorgeous paper, too. Congrats on your first official Cameo project!!

Love this, you and CoCo are becoming fast friends! I have to laugh, I too have the paper problem, I hoard the good stuff, afraid to cut into it!

I do the same with pretty paper and fabric! Love your collection, and glad you were able to make something super cute with it!

Love it! Those colors are gorgeous too! I have the same fear of "using" the pretty stuff that I buy! For years I just "collected" stickers, so sad. Thanks for sharing & linking up to Monkey'n Monday!

Tee hee... as a fabric hoarder I can say we've got it better... drool stains wash out of fabric much better than paper!! : D
