I love handmade paper. A little too much perhaps. I love it like some people love fabric and can’t resist the temptation of so many gorgeous patterns. I walk into places like Paper Source and just stand there drooling. They cut a wide path around me!
Supplies:
- Sheet of handmade paper . I fell in love with this grey / yellow / silver combo.
- Last of the Goodwill $.99 frames from Pottery Barn from last year’s score. Like these so much I haven't even painted them.
- Vinyl.
I’ve had fun downloading images from the Silhouette online store for CoCo. A girl needs choices right? I picked a fun tree and a bird image. I originally cut both in white but decided I wanted a contrast so cut the bird from grey vinyl. This machine is so easy to use it makes me feel like a lazy guilty crafter!
Cut the handmade paper to size, framed it, and applied the vinyl on top of the glass.
And since I dare not waste any of this gorgeous paper, I made a layered paper flower from the scraps:
Easy peasy and will be a nice addition to my powder room.

I feel the same way about fabric. I have such a hard time cutting it that I want to make sure I save it for the perfect project and then end up hoarding it and never using it. I love the silver/grey/yellow combo. Probably my favorite color combo right now. Nice work!
I love this! I don't think there is anything you can't do with paper!
xoxo
Beautiful picture and loving the flower. x
Very Pretty! I have a tiny obsession with pretty paper too (shh... don't tell my husband)! I have the "other" cutting machine but I really have a lot of fun working with vinyl. Look forward to seeing more of your pretty paper projects. AJ@queenofmynest
Love this! Such a nice mix of graphic shapes and that amazing floral. And I always love yellow and gray!
Adorable, Carol! I would be timid to cut up that gorgeous paper, too. Congrats on your first official Cameo project!!
Love this, you and CoCo are becoming fast friends! I have to laugh, I too have the paper problem, I hoard the good stuff, afraid to cut into it!
I do the same with pretty paper and fabric! Love your collection, and glad you were able to make something super cute with it!
Love it! Those colors are gorgeous too! I have the same fear of "using" the pretty stuff that I buy! For years I just "collected" stickers, so sad. Thanks for sharing & linking up to Monkey'n Monday!
I love yellow and gray together! that is a great first project for your Silhouette!
Your project turned out beautifully, Carol! Looking forward to more great inspirations from you and your new Silhouette!

CUTE frame! Love the colors and, of course, the bird!
Very nice! I love the flower!!
So cute! And I do the same thing! We need to join fabric-aholic-anonymous! :)
Tee hee... as a fabric hoarder I can say we've got it better... drool stains wash out of fabric much better than paper!! : D
