BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all! Welcome back to another party filled with wonderful ideas shared by all of you! Hope you've had a great week and those of you in cold temps are staying warm. We did the math the other day and it was 81 degrees warmer for us than it was for our son in Chicago! YIKES!!!

Did a couple of fun Valentine's projects this week. Clay Pot Bottle Toppers and a Five Minute Wreath! And what a difference a year makes. After a 2021 filled with too many doctor's appointments, went for a hike up the mountain behind our house this week!

Let's take a look at some of the fun things you all shared at last week's party!

Penny's Vintage Home shared another of her wonderful vignettes. So pretty and festive and perfect for Valentine's Day!

Artsy VaVa shared a gorgeous Heart Art DIY that speaks to my vintagey shabby chic heart!

Speaking of Vintage, you need to see the before for this after transformation shared by The House on Silverado. On my list for 2022? Dixie Belle Paint which was used here.

Finally, Faerie Gardens are everywhere and Sum of Their Stories has a wonderful way to use corks to add to one!

Thanks to everyone who linked up and can't wait to see what you share this week!

BFF Open House Happy New Year Edition 2022

Hope everyone had a peaceful and quiet New Year. Wish I could say the same. I am going to be honest and tell you I will never understand the abundance of fireworks sold here in the desert. I mean incendiary devices and dry brush...what could happen? Not to mention that it was traumatizing to the pets including our big girl who's generally unfazed by much. Yeah, I have opinions.

I'm easing into the New Year creatively because I'm not yet able to get back to a routine but hopefully soon. I'm not someone who can create when other things and to dos are hanging over me. BUT, health and other circumstances willing...I hope 2022 is one of my most creative years ever so stay tuned!

Let's take a look at some of the wonderful ideas shared at last week's party and again, thanks for sharing your creations here throughout 2021!

I am in LOVE with these Gumball Ornaments from Crafts A La Mode! There are still post-holiday deals to be had and picking up some clear ornaments would be a wonderful idea to make some of these for Valentine's Day.

The house looks so naked once you take down all the Christmas decor so I'm always looking for fun ways to decorate for Winter. This Snowballs in a Jar idea from Coastal Bohemian is a great one, especially for people who live places (like me) that don't see snow!

Artsy VaVa has got a really wonderful way to create a new House Number Sign.

Finally, and let me say that Niky from House on Silverado knows how to spoil her husband because these King Crab Cakes she made had me wanting to crawl through the screen! I'm a bit of a crab cake fiend but since my husband is decidely NOT a a fan, I've not made them at home. A girl can dream though, right? Y U M !

Thanks to everyone who linked up and now let's see what you've been up to this week!

Happy June Creative Peeps although JUNE?! Yikes. Moving is underway and making is on pause. Is it just me or do others see things they're moving and decide "hey I need to make this over right after I'm settled". I bet it's not just me. June! Father's Day, PRIDE, lots of graduations, weddings etc. at least traditionally. Graduations seem to be split between May and June these days and with so many still being virtual it's hard to keep track.

I had a wonderful surprise this week. You may remember that I made some cards and tags for an organization called Box of Balloons that works to ensure every child has a birthday memory. I got the nicest email from them yesterday that just made my heart soar.

"I've been putting a card and gift tag in each birthday box I've been creating and it adds such a personal touch to each box. Thank you so much for donating these as I'm sure they took a lot of time and energy to create. They're so beautiful and made so well and I'm just blown away and grateful :) "

I let the coordinator know that as soon as I'm settled I'll make some more. It's such a great feeling to know that you can bring a little more light into the world doing what you love.

Let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party!

To my point about making over some things on hand, take a look at these gorgeous pots Howling Liz updated. These look so current and I love the glossy black she used. Gorgeous!

Think this is an old wooden box  Artsy VaVa tranformed into gorgeousness? Nope. It's a brick mold! And being a Southwest dweller, I love the succulents which aren't painted but rub-ons.

I've had a lifelong fascination with globes. I'd look at them to see where characters I was reading about lived, or of course for schoolwork, or to look at places people came from or I wanted to go. Jennifer from Studio 27 had another creative idea to use one to show where her blog traffic comes from! So many possibilities!

Genius! If you've made Hot Cocoa Bombs, you've already got the molds you need to make these perfect for Summer Ice Cream Bombs! This genius idea comes from 3 Winks Design. What fun treats for the hotter months!

Thank you as always to everyone who linked up. I love seeing what everyone's up to. Now let's take a look at who's done what this week!

Happy Friday Eve and sending my heart out to Texas and other parts of the country who are being hit hard by winter storms. There are no words. We went seven days w/out power after a bad winter storm in Seattle and it is an unbelievable challenge.

Lots of great ideas as always from last week's party so here are some that caught my eye!

Wildfire Stitches has a wonderful post if you are new to embroidery. Really great hints and tips in this post and a wonderful Embroidery Blog! With all of our digital and machine tools, sometimes it's really nice to do something that is truly 100% handmade!

If you're looking for a St. Patrick's idea, look no further than Artsy VaVa's GORGEOUS Clover Door Hanger! Just stunning!

After checking out the Embroidery Basics post y Wildfire Stitches, check out this wonderful project from Satsuma Designs: Embroidered Lavender Sachet Bags

Finally, since many of us are cooking more as we stay home more, one of my favorite dishes: Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce from The House on Silverado. I wanted to lick the screen!

Thanks as always to all who linked up and let's see what everyone's been up to this week.

Happy one week until Christmas Eve Friday Eve all! How on earth is it one week until Christmas? Although that puts us closer to the end of 2020 which isn't a bad thing. You've been busy elves so let's see what you've been up to.

I love vignettes and how you can incorporate everyday decor items into seasonal decor. Mary Jo from Masterpieces of My Life shows exactly how to do that with her post on baubles in crates. Giving a wider view and a closeup view.

You really need to check out the whole post to appreciate!

Artsy VaVa is back with another gorgeous painted and stenciled sign and the grain sack accent stripes and boxwood "O" really make it pop!

Two Chicks and a Mom shared this bright and fun wreath made with supplies from one of my go to places, the Dollar Tree. Perfect to leave up all Winter! Not only is it fun and festive, it has a special story. Please read the whole post.

Naush from Doodlebuddies shared these Simple and Elegant Christmas trees you can still make for this year or pin for next.

Thanks as always for sharing your creations here each week. I love seeing what you've all been up to even if I don't always have time to comment.

OK let's see what you've been up to this week!

Happy July! Here's hoping the second half of this year is less eventful than the first half. Hope that you are all staying healthy, and if not wealthy, wise about masking, distancing, and hand washing!

Let's see some inspiring ideas from last week's party !

If you remember the Boho Patriotic Star from Artsy VaVa from last week, you have to check out this piece she did to match it in "Red, White and Boho Part II" and you really have to check out her post to see the condition it was in and what she had to get through!

Fourth of July and Summer are the perfect times for S'Mores. But not everyone has a campfire or can be outside to make them. Too hot here in the desert plus I'm in high danger wildfire country. The Inspired Prairie has got a fabulous roundup of 15 Ways To Make S'Mores that not only covers some indoor options but different takes on this Summer classic. I like these Chocolate Chip Cookie S'Mores but there are 14 other variations!

There's always a need for a memo board. No matter how paperless we think we are, there are still things I need to keep handy and not on my laptop or phone. Southern Sunflowers shared a thrifty way to dress one or a couple of them up!

Since we've all been staying home more, I've seen a renewed interest in baking, especially bread making. Here's a delicious variation shared by Morsels of Life : Chai Tea Bread. The yumminess of a Chai in bread form and topped w/ toasted coconut. Perfect to enjoy w/ a cup of Chai or other tea, or coffee or just anything!

Now, let's see what everyone's up to this week. Have a safe and happy Fourth!

It's April already. The world is a hot mess. Thank goodness for crafting! So grateful that my bug from last week turned out not to be "it". Thank you for all the well wishes!

It's so overwhelming reading / watching the news. I hope you are all well and safely social distancing.

Loving these earrings from My Bijou Life ( and there's a pretty necklace to go with!). Perfect for Spring.

Many people have been making their own disinfectant for reasons other than the virus that is trying to take over the world. Now , more than ever ( especially if stores are completely wiped out) here's one way to use natural ingredients. From The Organized Dream

This could be a fun project to do alone or if you have kiddos home from school. I saw a similar one of these wood bunnies on my last physical trip to Michaels a few weeks ago (BTW I did their Curbside Pickup last week and it was easy and great and my order was perfect ) or pin for next year. From Artsy VaVa

Finally, if you're missing your favorite donut shop or just need a new snack w/ everyone at home, check out these Cinnamon Sugar Donuts from Lou Lou Girls. YUM!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week! And remember...

Keep calm and wash your hands
