I decided to go with a simple red and white theme, hence the name. And since this is decidely NOT a family affair ( more like a spectator sport in my house) I get to pick!
The front door is made from Andes Peppermint Crunch candies. Here’s where the charger didn’t make such a great base:
I wanted to make a sugar cube chimney and “brickwork” but need a little more truly flat space than I had. Oh well! Icing hides everything!
Maybe next year I’ll try baking a chocolate one from scratch. MAYBE!

I've never tried one. I think yours turned out great. As to a chocolate house!?! I can't wait to see that!

The fact that you attempt this is so impressive. Never even crosses my mind to try a gingerbread house. I'm just hoping I get to cut out cookies soon.
Cute cottage! I made 5 houses from scratch for my son's bday party a couple weeks ago....it was a huge amount of work and I learned my lesson to quit being so cheap and just buy the kits next time!
Its cute, Carol! I've never attempted one. Too intimidating!! I would definitely be a spectator. :)
Its enough I make a Christmas cake each year.....a gingerbread house....as well, no way. But am more than happy to admire yours....xx
