Baby Boy Cards

I made a couple of cards this weekend to congratulate new parents and grandparents on the arrival of a new bundle of joy. I decided to keep things fairly monochromatic in hues of blue .

Supplies Used:
  • White Cardstock (Recollections, Michaels 110 lb)
  • Pale Blue 12x12 Glitter Paper ( Recollections, Michaels,  Holiday Glitz and Glitter Stack)
  • Light and Medium Blue 12x12 Cardstock (Craft Smith, Michaels Blues Stack)
  • Baby Boy cut file (Silhouette Online Store Design ID #17765)
  • Onesie cut file (Silhouette Online Store Design ID # 59708

Misc:
  • Gold paper scrap
  • Heart punch
  • Washi Tape
  • Adhesive ( I live for my tape gun)
  • Paper Cutter
  • Silhouette Cameo 3
  • Foam tape
Instructions:
  • Using paper cutter, cut and score white cardstock to 5x7  card
  • Cut blue glitter paper panel to 4.75 x 6.75
  • Cut pale blue cardstock to 4.25 x 6.25
  • Layer glitter and pale blue panels as shown.
  • Add washi tape to opposite corners as shown
  • Download, size, cut "Baby Boy" and "Onesie" images.
  • I cut sets of images from the glitter paper and from the medium blue paper. I like giving images a little bit of a shadow by layering them. I find this gives them some depth.
  • Mount cut  images to card panels using foam tape
  • Punch heart from gold scrap and mount to center of onesie

I made matching panels for the inside of the card but forgot to take a pic when they were blank. You can see a little peeking out from the card that's laying down.

BFF Open House Link Party Back Up And Running!

YAY! Happy Friday Eve all. I'm back up and running on my laptop with a new SSD hard drive and all my fonts and data files in tact. Whew! Thanks for  hanging in there.

Can I scare you? We're already almost done w/ January and Friday 1/25 marks exactly eleven months until Christmas. Can you believe it? I have vowed that I'm starting much earlier on handmade gifts this year because time flies.

OK here are some features from last week's party. Thanks for hanging in and hanging with me!

I love wood slices and have mostly seen them used as trays or plaques, but totally love this idea from Stephanis at  Abbotts At Home to use one as a hanging rack!

I have always had a thing for birch trees. There is just something about them that is so appealing to me so I couldn't stop staring at these Hand Painted Birch Tree Wine Glasses from Chas's Crazy Creations. You could easily do on a plate, platter, vase. So Pretty!

Also in love with this chair makeover from Virginia at Artsy VaVa

Finally, as we're getting ready for Valentine's Day, check out this amazing cheesecake from Butter With a Side of Bread:

Wouldn't that be a special treat for your special Valentine?

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

Valentine's Day : Blasts From The Past

Yay! I have my laptop back and didn't lose anything and I'm so happy! Have some photo editing to do for some things I've worked on recently and have to re-install some stuff,  but in the meantime, thought I would take a trip down memory lane and re-up a few Valentine's Day home decor and card projects from past years.  Projects are linked in the titles.

Home Decor

This is a really quick way to add some Valentine's decor that can actually stay up all year long and not look out of place. Neutral colors make it versatile.

Valentine Canvas Bling Arrow

This is another thing that you can leave up all year long.

DCWV Bling XO Letters

I actually did this in "traditional" Valentine's colors ( primarily since it was a stash bust from an extra charger I had from Christmas)

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all ! Limping along here on a borrowed laptop but will be back to normal ( fingers crossed) next week. So this again will be a party with just "party, no features" . Thanks for your understanding!

Anyone going to Creativation this weekend here in Phoenix? I've wanted to go to this for years and the one time it's in a city I'm in, I have a wedding to go to lol. Hoping it's here again next year.

OK let's see what everyone's been up to!

BFF Open House Link Party

Well, I hope your week is ending better than mine. My laptop decided to be very uncooperative when I most need it for a few things so this week's party will be just party no features since I need to to do this on my phone.

Here's to the weekend !

BFF Open House Link Party : On Time and With Features

Happy New Year all! Hope everyone's 2019 is off to a great start. After being sick over most of the holidays  I'm actually here on time with features this week.

We don't take our Christmas stuff down right after Christmas so I still have Christmas everywhere and on the brain. I'm not quite ready for all of the Valentine's stuff I've seen in stores. Pin this  lovely DIY Ornament Centerpiece project for next year from Miss Kopy Kat.

I also fell in love with this beautiful Christmas Cake from Liz at Howling At The Moon

Now that the holidays are over, I'm excited to get back to my newest passion I started in late 2018, paint pouring. This Happy Mommy has a take on it with this fun  Drip Painting project:

Finally, when I moved to the desert, I must say I didn't expect to see snow! Yep. It snowed on NYE and it's been cooooolllllld , which makes this Tortilla Soup recipe from All That's Jas a must make!

Now let's see what everyone's been up to so far this year!

BFF Open House Link Party : Britney Spears Edition

As in..."Oops I did it again" and forgot my own party. Blame it on getting back to work and still recovering from this cold that's lingered too long. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed some down time with loved ones. Despite being sick, it's been a fantastic visit with our son and for the first time in 7 years, got to spend Christmas with the Mumster which was lovely.

Very excited that Santa (aka Mr. Chocolate) brought a Cricut Explore Air2 for me to play with and it's in my signature color: BLACK!

OK I'll get back to features ( and an on time party ) next week. Wishing you all a safe and Happy New Year!
