Timeless Type Thank You Cards

DCWV Thank You Cards

College Boy recently requested some Thank You cards for Professors who’d written recommendation letters for him. I decided to make them similar but not matching,  and papers from DCWV's Timeless Types stack worked perfectly with a Premium Pack of specialty papers and papers from the Textured Cardstock Stack.  The papers were so detailed that for the focal I decided on a clean graphic image stamped in black ink on white gloss paper.

Timeless Type Premium Paper

Each card is the same construction. 5x7 card with printed papers layered on black cardstock panels. The papers from these collections are so detailed that they speak for themselves.

Premium Paper Map

I loved the black and white floral combined with the muted colors of the map that made up the design of this sheet from the Premium Pack. All I added was the stamped focal, a piece of washi tape, and some rhinestones. The stamp is one I picked up in the $1.50 or $2 aisle at Michaels. I thought  the image was perfect for Professors.

Timeless Type Thank Yous

For a couple of the cards, I combined torn strips of coordinating papers  from the Timeless Type stack but the basic construction is the same.

Masculine Thank You Cards

Masculine Thank You Cards

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

I had an early Mother’s Day weekend. College Boy flew home from school to attend a symposium at the University of Washington. He wanted to thank both the Professor from his school who selected him to attend,  as well as the Professor who hosted the event.

He’s so cute…”would you mind making a couple of cards?”

"Oh no. Me make cards? I would hate that!"

Life You Imagine Card

I chose a muted teal metallic cardstock, kraft cardstock and some of the cards from the Project Life Vintage Travel kit. Who better for masculine cards than Tim Holtz, so I used one of his grunge embossing folders and Tim Holtz stamp.

Life You Imagine Card Base

Make a 5x7 card from the teal cardstock. Cut a 4.75 x 6.75 panel from black card stock and layer.

Life You Imagine Panels

Cut a 5x6 panel from the kraft cardstock and run through your Cuttlebug or equivalent using the embossing folder. Layer panels at an angle (corners will hang over the card, trim flush with card when all panels are adhered)

Life You Imagined

Stamp image on kraft scrap and trim with black panel. I double stamped this image to get the slightly blurred effect.  Apply washi tape strip and baker’s twine . Layer on top of card . embellish with vintage buttons and done!

Dream Thank You

The “Dream” card is the same basic card  construction except join two coordinating papers together then cut to 4.75 x 6.75 panel. For this card I used a grey card stock and coordinating Basic Grey ( "Perphery") papers.  Use a leftover piece of the teal cardstock and run through the embosssing panel. Adhere across the front as shown. Apply “dream” sticker to flattened bottlecap and adhere to panel.

It's OFFICIAL! It's A 100 Follower Giveaway!

Update: When I first put this up today,  I was at 97 follwers and had titled it "3 Away From A Giveaway.
It's official now, I have 100 wonderful followers and it's such an exciting milestone to reach!

So the giveaway will close one week from today and I'll post the winner on 6/18!

When I started this blog, I really had no idea what to expect. Would anyone see it? Would anyone like it? I know these are things we've all felt and asked ourselves. In my wildest dreams, I had no idea that in a little over a month, I'd be at almost 100 followers. WOW. So first, thank you to each and every one of you who has chosen to follow me and my nutty ramblings and crazy ideas, and for the support and encouragement you've provided.

Thank you to all of the bloggers who so willingly share their ideas and creativity. A special thanks to Megan at Shabby Blogs for providing people such lovely and free blog designs. Another one to Karen, "The Queen of the Graphics", at The Graphics Fairy for her generosity as well in sharing the incredible images she finds.

To call out other blogs that have inspired me in some way would be to list every single one that's in my blog reader list so this thanks is for all of you.

I'm still new at this and haven't explored the whole sponsor / advertising things ( mostly because I have no clue how!) so I don't have a "professional" giveaway for you. What I do have, is something I made that I hope represents how much joy I take in making things. The winner will receive this "Dream" box, filled with some items I hope will spark their creative muse.

Ephemera, charms, hand stamped gift / hang tags, embellishments, a special treat and there MAY even be chocolate!
