BFF Open House Link Party #97

The Answer Is Chocolate

It's party time again! Such fantastic ideas shared at last week's party so we'll start with a few of the highlights from that.

Looking for ways to repurpose plastic Easter eggs? Check out these chalkboard eggs from R&R Workshop. Is there anything you can't paint with chalkboard paint?

Rhonda from The Messy Roost has another idea for those plastic eggs:

Don't they look like real eggs?

I am so in love with washi tape. Almost as much as I love chocolate. Bethany from Pitter and Glink has a great way to use it  in personalized stationery. What a great girlfriend or just because gift.

I don't know what it is about things in jars but I love those too. Maybe it's how the glass gives dimension to whatever's under it? Like this adorable Spring and Easter perfect idea from Michele at The Scrap Shoppe:

Or maybe it's that looks good enough to eat "chocolate" glitter lamb?  Speaking of chocolate , how about some healthy chocolate bites? Yes, I used chocolate and healthy in the same sentence. Lots of antioxidants!

Whip up a batch of these to keep your crafting energy level up. From Taste of August

Now time for this week's fun!

So many cute ideas shared at Friday's party. Clearly people are in LOVE with Valentine's Day and are well prepared to celebrate it this week. Let's have a look:

'
Tonna from USS Crafty shared this adorable Valentine's wreath made from Dollar Tree and Michael's supplies. Low cost, high impact.

Teri from A Creative Princess shared how she not only embellished washers ( cute on their own) but grouped them together to make a heart shaped washer necklace. LOVE!

Denyse from Glitter Glue and Paint raided her scraps and whipped up these sweet Valentine's candles.

Sarah, from Sarah's SaturDIY share here "Owl-entine's " bunting along with her adorable Valentine's vignette.

And Caroline from cw frosting shared how to easily transform your throw pillows into Valentine's decor with an easy no-sew technique.

Of course, it wouldn't be Valentine's Day without chocolate. Here are some delicious chocolate ideas you could whip up for your someone special.

Karyn at Pint Sized Baker shared these yummy chocolate strawberry hearts. You might pop over to check out her giveaway too!

Your family will love you ( even more than they do already ) if you whip up a batch of these Reeses's Brownies from Jovana at Taste of August.

You could start Jovana's brownies with these homemade Peanut Butter Cups from Shauna at The Best Blog Recipes, or you could just make some of these to give your sweetheart.  And to round out the trifecta of Peanut Butter chocolatey goodness:

Peanutbutter and Chocolate Pretzels from Amy at Ameroonie Designs. I am in love with that sweet paper rose in her picture too!

Happy Valentine's Week sweet readers.

BFF Open House Link Party #90 Wrap Up and Features

Thanks everyone for linking up to Friday's Open House. Since Mr. Groundhog says we're in for an early Spring, I guess that makes me feel less anxious about seeing Easter stuff in the stores before Valentine's Day. OK a little.

So let's see a few of the great ideas that were shared shall we?

I love, love, LOVE , altered bottles and this one from Artsy VaVa doesn't disappoint. Buzz on over to see how she did it.

And what would go great with this? These adorable treat boxes from Sarah at Alderberry Hill for one.

But if you are looking to share some sweet love for Valentine's day, you'll want to check out this week's chocolate feature from Jessica at My World Made by Hand

Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie Bites! Oh yeah.

BFF Open House Link Party #88 Wrap Up and Features

Wow! What a great turnout for last week's party. Thanks everyone for sharing your creations here. Let's get right to some of the wonderful ideas that caught my eye!

I'm hooked on chalkboard printables and this Winnie The Pooh inspired one from Michele at The Scrap Shoppe is just too too cute. Perfect for Valentine's Day or all year.

I love card making and this card by Linda at Paper Seedling is a stunner.

Rox, from Four Eleven Rox, has inspired me to pick my doodle pad back up with her amazing Zentangle inspired heart.

And this week's chocolate feature comes from Karyn at Pint Sized Baker. These are almost too pretty to eat. Almost! That wouldn't stop me from devouring these beautiful chocolate rose frosted shortbread cookies. You can read about the extra special meaning behind them at Karyn's blog.

Thanks again to everyone who makes the BFF Open House Link Party a part of their week. It means a lot to me! Have a great week and make it a creative one!

BFF Open House Link Party #82 Wrap Up and Features

What a great party last week! It’s clear everyone is very busy and there is no shortage of ideas and creativity so let’s get right to some of the highlights.

Jamie from The Creative Imperative shared her version of some pricey cableknit pillows she fell in love with. I love hers.

Must have been something in the air because Judy, from In His Grip also shared some gorgeous sweater pillows:

Upcycle Sweater Pillow1

All of these pillows would look so great with Keri from Shaken Together’s Faux Birch Bark Candles:

Tis the Season for all things peppermint and Michele at The Scrap Shoppe has got you covered. If you can’t find a peppermint recipe in this collection, then it doesn’t exist!

If you’re looking for some easy but stylish additions to your tree, Fotini from Glamorous Affordable Life has a fun and fast idea. Chalkboard ornaments.

Finally., this week’s chocolate feature is lip smackingly good. Chocolate Caramel brownies from Cath’s Cookery Creations.

Thanks as always to everyone who linked up. Make it a creative week and see you again on Friday!

BFF Open House Link Party #69 Wrap Up and Features

Fall is definitely in the air both in real life and blog life. In just a week, I’ve noticed our leaves starting to turn into those vibrant golds and oranges that only come with fall. I hope you all enjoyed meeting Marcie from I Gotta Try That. Her Halloween series continues.

This week’s party had so many great Fall and Halloween ideas. Here are just a few!

Check out this mirrored pumpkin from Closet Crafter Ohio. What an elegant way to update your Fall Décor from now all the way through Thanksgiving.

I adore this necklace from Rena at Jewelry making Journal. She calls it “A Love Letter From Autumn” which is so perfect since it involves a Fall themed postage stamp:

I love how Sarah at Alderberry Hill went glam on this addition to her Halloween décor:

Mich in LA has a gorgeous nature inspired bracelet that she came up with as a perfect addition for a Halloween costume appropriate for any elf, fairy, or mother nature themed idea. I think smaller versions of these would make wonderful napkin rings.

I just got a huge catalog in the mail from Restoration Hardware and before I even had a chance to peek at it, Rachel at Holy Craft shared this awesome knock off that she did for $5 vs the $550 RHW wants for it! I like Rachel’s price and hers looks every bit as incredible as the inspiration piece!

And finally, I think I am going to have to try a batch of these to send to College Boy. Check out these Monster Cookie Dough Truffles from Mommy’s Sweet Confessions:

This is definitely one kind of Monster that wouldn’t scare me! Thanks to everyone who linked up as always. Make it a creative week!

BFF Open House Link Party #43 Wrap Up and Features

Before I jump into the features, I am remiss in welcoming and thanking new followers. I don’t obsess over numbers but I also do want to acknowledge that I’ve seen the number of people following increase and am really excited and honored to have you!

Thanks again for another great party. So many great ideas and here are just a few projects that caught my eye!

I am smitten by bottle lamps, even though I haven’t yet attempted one. I’ve seen them in Ballard and PB catalogs, and in stores. Intrepid DIYers have tackled these and done so brilliantly!

Bethany, from Pitter and Glink shared this stunning mercury glass etched lamp:

And Kathleen from Charm Bracelet Diva shared the amazing find she picked up at Goodwill and transformed into another gorgeous bottle lamp:

Coincidentally, there was another inspiring pair of projects linked up…bright and brilliant bulletin boards:

The first from Michele at The Scrap Shoppe:

Talk about a transformation!

And Mel, the Crafty Scientist shared this beautiful quatrefoil bulletin board:

Finally, I love this idea from Sarah at Alderberry Hill. She has a multi purpose twig tree  that she decorates for whatever occasion…in this case an ab fab birthday party she threw for her daughter!

Isn’t it fun?!

Hope you all have a great and creative week!

BFF Open House Link Party #39 Wrap Up and Features!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! There were once again some incredible ideas shared at Friday’s link party. I continue to be amazed at the creativity out there! Here are just a few highlights:

If you’re the owner of a Keurig coffee maker, save the boxes your K cups come in and make a cute storage container like Kristi from I Should Be Mopping The Floor ( me too) did for Valentine’s Day:

And wouldn’t this shabby chic dishtowel from Bev at Flamingo Toes look great hanging next to it , or could go inside it as a fun gift!

Since we’re getting close to Valentine’s Day, chocolate has to be involved right? You just have to be careful not to eat this fun chocolate play dough from Blue Skies Ahead which would be an alternative to sweets to give the kids:

You can definitely eat these gorgeous chocolate heart filled peanut butter cookies from Jenn at Rook No. 17:

You have to see the genius trick she used to create the heart imprint!

And be still my chocolate and peanut butter loving heart with these Peanut Butter Cup Brownies In A Jar from Tonia at The Gunny Sack:
Peanut Butter Cup Brownies In A Jar
Oh. My. YUM!

Finally, I adore this piece of altered art from Doreen at Altered Artworks, inspired by a famous line from the movie Jerry McGuire: You had me at hello.

Thanks to everyone who linked up and hope to see you all again on Friday! Make it a creative week!!

BFF Open House Link Party #37: Wrap Up And Features

Happy Monday! I’m certainly hoping this week is calmer than last week. Part of last week’s craziness prevented me from being able to get out and visit party links like I try to do and maybe that’s a good thing because this week we had the MOST LINKS EVER.I was so excited to see that you all had linked up 100 projects!

Of course that makes it even tougher to choose features but here we go!

Jenny, from Days of Chalk and Chocolate, shared these adorable Valentine’s “love note” pillows:

I am always amazed and impressed at what creative people can recycle / upcycle / re-purpose. Jamie from Creative Imperative combined two things that you don’t think of as going together: a pool noodle and a sweater. Result? Valentine’s wreath!

Got milk? Specifically, got a milk jug? Make a beautiful banner like Kristina from REMADESIMPLE did :

You know I have a thing for printables and this one from Bev at Flamingo Toes is a must have for V-Day:

I have to include a chocolate feature and these Nutella Whoopie pies from Kristianne at My San Francisco Kitchen are calling my name!

And last but not least is this fab wreath from Christine and Co who brings non-traditional colors and materials together in this lovely Valentine’s wreath:

Thanks again to everyone who linked up and look forward to seeing you again this Friday. Have a creative week!
