I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is busy with plans for New Year's Eve. Ours are always very low key. BFF Open House Link Party #21 !

I really think that as we get later into the year, the weeks are going by faster. Wasn’t it just Friday? Not that I’m complaining AT ALL! Looking forward to our annual visit to the Puyallup Fair ( that’s “pew-al-up” to you non Western Washingtonians) and having a Krusty Pup ( corn dog but doesn’t it sound more fun as a Krusty Pup?) and their world famous (at least in Washington) scones! There may also be fudge involved. Thank goodness there’s lots of walking  to do!

I’ve gotten way lazy, busy,  off track with the blog feature portion of the BFF Open House. So I need some help. I still want to focus on new and emerging blogs ( no offense you big blog people), those with no more than say 500 followers. So if you are a crafty / décor / DIY/scrappy / card making / chocolate related / jewelry kinda blog or you know of a blog like that that you think would be a good feature, email me (theanswerischocolate@comcast.net). That way I can line up features for the weeks ahead.

Now party time! Changing out your décor for Fall? Link it up! Halloween or Thanksgiving ideas? Link ‘em. Dare I say I ‘ve even seen some Christmas!! Whatever you’ve whipped up lately, let’s see!

BFF Open House Link Party #58 Wrap Up and Features

I’m a day late with the features from Friday’s link party. Was celebrating Expressions Vinyl’s birthday yesterday. Don’t forget, I have a giveaway from them going through this Sunday. Details here.

As always, so many wonderful ideas were linked up to last week’s BFF Open House. Here are just a few!
I’ll start off by making you drool over these cupcakes from Jocelyn at Inside BruCru Life. Starbucks should just hire her to come up with cupcakes to pair with their drinks.

Jocelyn’s got a whole collection of Starbucks inspired confections .

What crafty mom doesn’t have a collection of popsicle sticks hanging around without a clue what to do with them? Bethany at Pitter and Glink has got your covered:

Popsicle sticks!

No one would guess this was a made-over shirt versus one bought new in a trendy boutique. That’s because the ever brilliant Carolyn from Homework did it:

Time to shop in the closet!

Want to add a patriotic pillow to your décor without breaking the bank? Laura from Top This Top That shared this cute pillow made from….. a drop cloth:

If you don’t already have one in your stash you can pick up fabric drop cloths at the Hardware store for about $8 and they provide a LOT of fabric.

Thanks again for making each Friday so much fun. Make it another creative week!

BFF Link Party#14 : Wrap Up, Features, and FYI

Thanks everyone for continuing to link up to the Blog Feature Friday Open House here at The Answer Is Chocolate. I love going through the links and seeing familiar blogs and new ones.

First, the FYI…the BFF Open House link party will be up for the next few  Fridays without the blog feature portion. During those same weeks I won’t do the Monday wrap-up. The combined blog feature and link party will resume week ending 9/9. Just too much going on trying to get a kid off to college and spend some family time! Thanks for understanding. Now for this week’s features!

You MUST check out this incredible felt flower pouf at JandJ Home!

I love everything about it. The flowers, the colors ! YUM.

I’m so drawn to fonts and typography and if you’ve never visited Aimee at Sprik Space, you are cheating yourself. She has created so many collections of amazing printables and generously shares them. I adore this alphabet:

Alphabet Mosaic - 11x14 - Sprik Space

You will definitely want to check out her multiple series of patterned pieces while you’re there!

Becky, at Buzzy Bee Creations linked up the cutest mason jar project.

Functional and pretty. A combination that can’t be beat! And finally , Suesan from Frou-Frugal linked up this gorgeous chair / bench makeover that will make you want to curl up with a glass of iced tea or lemonade and a good book:

Just looking at the fabric, I feel Mediterranean breezes!

Speaking of wood, how about this gorgeous tray from Hazel and Gold Designs? Make one for yourself to use during the holidays and one for a gift!

The holidays are prime baking time so how about these Double Decker Christmas Brownies from  From Playdates to Parties

Or you could whip up some of these Salted Brownie Bites for entertaining, a cookie swap, or just because! From Somewhat Awry

BFF Open House Link Party #31 Wrap Up and Features

Once again, a huge thanks to everyone who linked up at Friday’s BFF Open House. I hope you all enjoyed meeting Lesley from Freaking Craft.

I continue to be inspired by the incredible creativity that’s shared each week. Here are just a few highlights:

Jamie, from the creative imperative shared this gorgeous ruffled Christmas tree skirt.
It’s so pretty, you could just skip decorating the tree!

It would look fantastic in a room with this Nagoya Wreath, shared by Michele from The Scrap Shoppe:
The wreath is named for the stencil she used on the fabric she painted and then in a genius move, she mounted this on a charger.

Since I love ordinary materials transformed into things of beauty, I was stunned to learn that this trendy tree started out as moving boxes:
Go visit Tracy at Screaming Sardine to see how she did this.

The minute Mr. Chocolate sees this, I’m going to hear about it until I make one. Jenn from Rook No.17 shared an AMAZING Restoration Hardware knockoff that has to be seen to be believed:
The original is a wallet busting $995. Jenn estimates her cost at $25. I know which price I like!

And finally, you know I have to include a chocolate feature right? And what goes better with chocolate than peanut butter? And what’s better than FUDGE?! Trick question because the answer is nothing!

When you’re done drooling, go visit Carlee and Alyssa over at LadyBirdLN to get the recipe!

If you were featured, please fee free to grab a button (which for some reason does not want to be centered)

Have a creative week and hope to see you all again on Friday!

BFF Open House Link Party #79 Wrap Up and Features

Happy Thanksgiving Week crafty peeps! I’m so thankful to have all of you creative people in my life!
Once again, you all didn’t disappoint with ideas shared at Friday’s BFF Open House.

Here are just a few, some last minute Thanksgiving ideas and a couple to get you started on Christmas!

I love these faux wood leaves from Carolyn over at homework. Pop on over for the secret ingredient.

Doreen, from Altered Artworks shared her “Giving Thanks” journal ( I think I may even have that paper!) . This would be a fun thing to bring out each year and then start another volume once filled up.

Nichole from PinkieforPink shared how she made this lovely burlap and lace Give Thanks banner. No sew and great tip to keep burlap from fraying.

Looking ahead to Christmas , visit Sarah at Alderberry HIll to see how she made snowballs for her gorgeous lantern:

But back to Thanksgiving and this week’s chocolate feature. Jocelyn from Inside BruCrew Life shared these adorable peanut butter cup turkeys. If I have one teeny tiny whine about Thanksgiving, it is that it is not known for being a chocolatey holiday! Problem solved.

Thanks again to all who linked up. Make it a creative week!

BFF Open House Link Party #70 and BFF No.2 Pencil!

Welcome to another Blog Feature Friday and party here at The Answer Is Chocolate. I hope today’s BFF got my email that I was featuring her. If not, Surprise!

Melissa from the blog no.2 pencil is today’s BFF. ( OK and on a geeky note, I just love number 2 pencils and looked forward every school year to getting a brand new box and sharpening them).
Check out her great ideas like these emoticon mugs! If you’re on the internet or have a cell phone you’ve probably used and emoticon.

Emoticon Mugs - DIY painted coffee cups

Melissa blogs about DIY projects and recipes. Here’s another cool project…a chalkboard wreath:

How fun is that and you could change up the messages with the seasons.

She has me totally drooling ( and it’s not even chocolate) over this gourmet chicken salad sandwich. I like having leftover roast chicken to make chicken salad so definitely trying this one next time:

Gourmet Chicken Salad Sandwich with toasted pecan, cranberries and mandarin oranges

Toasted pecans, dried cranberries. Yum.

Finally, check out these fun and funky cake stands she made with clearance items from Target!

DIY Cake Stands from outdoor plates and cups
Simple, useful, cute. Trifecta of win!
I hope you’ll pay her a visit and show her some bloggy love. Now, what’s everyone been up to this week?

BFF Open House Link Party #92 Wrap Up and Features

Thanks to everyone who linked up at Friday’s BFF Open House. Each week is a visual and creative feast! Let’s get right to some of the items that caught my eye.

I am in total love with this grey and yellow paisley chair makeover from 24 Cottonwood Lane. So bright and fresh don’t you think?

This stenciled pallet clock from Bev at Flamingo Toes would go really well with it:

Stencilled Pallet Clock

Even though Valentine’s Day has come and gone, love is eternal. Check out this adorable Love Bird themed art piece from Bethany at Pitter and Glink:

And this week’s chocolate feature is just the right size for two love birds to share:

YUM. Chocolate cream cheese “baby” cake from Erika, The Hopeless Housewife.
Again, thanks to everyone who linked up and hope to see you all back again “Friday Eve” . Make it a creative week!

BFF Open House Link Party #30 Wrap Up and Features

Slow down December! Thanks to everyone who linked up to Friday’s BFF Open House. I hope you all enjoyed meeting Aimee from It's Overflowing.

Clearly there are some busy Elves out there in blogland producing some amazing holiday creations. Here are just a few!

Carolyn from homework can always transform the most mundane object into something amazingly beautiful. These little box ornaments are no exception:
Likewise, Bev from Flamingo Toes outdoes the original inspiration for an ornament from Anthropologie with this interpretation of it:
I love this mesh wreath from Gray Cardigan and would you believe this is her first attempt?!
And check out this peppermint wreath from Brown Paper Packages! Looks good enough to eat:
Finally, of  course I have to feature something chocolate! Check out these tempting treats from Pressed Down and Shaken Together. YUM!

Can’t wait to see what everyone gets up to this week. Make it a creative one! If you were featured, please feel free to grab a button.

BFF Open House Link Party #19 Wrap Up and Features!

Thanks everyone who linked up and visited last week’s BFF Open House. I love visiting the links and seeing new and regular “faces”. Lots of wonderful ideas for Fall so here are just a few!

WIth Halloween approaching, here’s a bright and easy canvas and scrapbook paper idea from Pocket Full of Pink:
A seasonal twist on what to do with paint chip samples. Love this simple and elegant garland from Social Salutations:
Speaking of simply elegant, Carolyn from homework shows us how to make a gorgeous Fall envelope using leaf doilies from the dollar store :
I could see this idea adapted for place cards or table decorations at an Autumn dinner.
And finally, I fell in love with this tiered table makeover from Art is Beauty. Can’t you just see a Fall vignette displayed here?
Have a great week everyone and look forward to seeing you again this coming Friday!

BFF Open House Link Party #33 Wrap Up and Features!

I hope everyone had the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of Hanukkahs. It’s hard to believe that it’s the day after Christmas already! I'm off to a slow start and will see what goodies are left at the stores whenever I get there.

I didn’t get a chance to visit all the links like I usually try to do but wanted to share some ideas that caught my eye from last week’s BFF Open House.

While the holiday wrapping may be done with for another year, we all have birthdays, weddings, showers etc to wrap for throughout the year. I usually pick up non-traditional wrapping paper etc on sale after Christmas to use all year. Katie, from blahtobeautiful shared some very creative wrapping ideas using Duck tape and fabric scraps!

This time of year, thoughts always turn to how to be better organized. Keri, from Pressed Down Shaken Together shared a pretty and practical idea to do just that; a cigar box scrapbook:

Inside the box, she’s got a file / tab for each month where she can jot down the happenings from that month, put pictures from that month etc. What a great idea to start in January and give a family member or friend next Christmas!

Planning ahead for next year, I’ve pinned this idea from Aimee at It’s Overflowing. I love the idea of a family photo tree and hers is just adorable:
Now would be a great time to pick up all the supplies with the after Christmas sales!

Finally, like many of us, I will start the New Year trying to be good after all of the holiday indulgences so I think I better make these amazing cheesecake brownies before New Year’s Eve.

These were shared by Andrea from The Cottage Market. YUM!!

Thanks everyone for linking up and looking forward to seeing what you've been up to this week.
