"Remember Why You Wonder" Printable

I hope you're all enjoying this Saturday, doing whatever fills your soul. This week's party continues here.

I saw this quote somewhere online as I was hopping around and don't remember where but it resonated with me so I decided to make a printable.

"Remember Why You Wonder"
I did three versions. The first one is clean and simple:

For the second one, I added a vintage paper background:

For the third, I added a texture over top of the vintage paper:

It's sized 8x10 so click on whichever image to bring to full resolution. Graphics are from a Rustic Wreath collection I downloaded from Creative Market.

Fighting Words: Do Not Mention Pumpkin Spice ( Printable)

Believe me, I know this will be unpopular. I love Fall. Everything, well to be truthful, ALMOST everything about it. The one thing I don't love about Fall? PUMPKIN SPICE. There I said it! Fighting words I know.

Sorry Pumpkin Spice because I know that you are loved and I have nothing but love for the Pumpkin Spice lovers (some, to my own perplexion, in my own family). I just do not share your passion. And by do not share I mean I loathe it. It was bad enough when it was just lattes. But now it's EVERYTHING!

Pumpkin Spice beer. Pumpkin Spice savory foods. Soups, pastas, etc. Pumpkin Spice cookies / cakes / donuts / chocolates / breads. Let's put it this way, I love chocolate with the equal and opposite loathing I have for Pumpkin Spice and since I'm known ( hello blog name) for the chocolate thing, well you get the picture.

OK Carol. We get it. Why are you screaming about this? Can't we PS lovers just go on with our PS obsession and smother the world with PS in peace? Are we actively doing something TO you? No, and I hold no one's love of the stuff against them. (Mostly. Just kidding. Maybe a teensy tiny bit. OK no, really. )

But I can't possibly be the ONLY one who doesn't love the stuff. So I made a printable for me in my lonely  dislike of PS,  but also  in the off chance that there are others of you out there who feel similarly; probably more rationally, but similarly.

Printable: Fall In Love With Fall

Who's ready for Fall besides me? Summer is OK but my favorite time of year is Fall, or Autumn if you prefer. The leaves changing color. The crispness in the air. Boots and sweaters. Bring it! The calendar is not quite there but I'm getting ready so I made a Fall printable using graphics from designbundles.net.

Book Lover's Day Printable

HAPPY BOOK LOVER'S DAY

I have loved words and books since I can remember. I spoke before I walked , and one of the fondest memories of my childhood ( and my dad, who I lost way too early) was of being propped up in my bed each night with a book, while his voice played on a tape recorder stored beneath my bed reading me the story.

He worked nights when I was very young and this was his way of tucking me in.

Growing up, I don't remember going anywhere without a book, and while I have become a less voracious reader of late (thanks internet!) I still read as often as I can. My greatest joy is that I passed on that love of reading to my son who, like me, actually heard the words "No we are not going to the bookstore today" because he'd quickly burned through the last book we'd bought .  No visit home from Grad School is complete w/out a stop ( or several) to Barnes and Noble or the Amazon brick and mortar bookstore we have here.

No surprise then that my BFF is also a voracious reader. This woman goes through books like I go through craft supplies. Non-stop!  I made this "Book Lover's Day" printable w/ her in mind and using a quote from one of my favorite authors:

To quote one of my favorite characters, Albus Dumbledore, created by the phenomenal JK Rowling:

“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”

Saturday Wine Humor

This week's party continues here.

My BFF sent a hilarious quote to me this week and it was serendipitous that Designbundles.net had the perfect set of graphics to go with it as their freebie of the week . You might say they were the perfect pairing, so I made this printable with her in mind.

It's a great collection of wine themed graphics but it's only free to download for 5 more days!

Lazy Frame Makeover and Thanksgiving Printable

Frame Makeover After

This quick frame makeover was the laziest project in the history of lazy projects. It took longer to make the printable than update the frame.  I love neutrals and black and white in case you can’t tell. I did try for a few years to do the color thing and I LOVE nature's colors this time of year , especially here in the PNW where the leaves are brilliant right now. But I went back to my comfort zone this Thanksgiving.

Frame Makeover Before

See ….proof! I had a metallic orange frame that’s been part of my décor the past few years. It just wasn’t going to go with what I had in mind for my mantel this year. I thought about painting the frame which wouldn’t have been that hard, but I was tired and I did mention this was a lazy project right?  Thank goodness for self adhesive glitter tape!

For this project you will need:
  • Simple frame
  • Glitter tape ( I used Recollections from Michaels)
  • Printable
I dis-assembled things, cleaned the glass, and said goodbye to the previous printable. Then I just went around the edges of the frame with my (black)  glitter tape. This does not require advanced crafting skills. This does not require ANY crafting skills.

Then I printed out the printable I made in PicMonkey. I couldn’t decide on a font so I made three versions.

Gather Together

Gather Together Scriptura

and the one I printed out

Gather Together Delicious Cake

Oh did I mention I'm sharing them? Click on to bring to full res, right click to save as.

Confession. I goofed on my sizing when I printed it but waste not want not. Instead of reprinting, I just mounted it onto some gold cardstock that was the right size for the mat. Done and done!

Halloween: Flying Monkeys Printable

I saw a similar quote on Facebook about Flying Monkeys that inspired this printable. I have love The Wizard of Oz since I was little including watching it every year it was on TV, then owning the VHS, DVD and Blu Ray editions.  Then I fell in love with the book "Wicked" , have seen the musical live , and know most of the songs by heart.

Being the weird kid ( ask The Mumster and Mr. Chocolate) that I was, I loved the flying monkeys. Some things never change!

Made this using PicMonkey and some elements from EyeInspire . Click on the image to bring to full resolution. Right click to "Save As". Size accordingly.

Vintagey Merry Christmas Printable

After a couple of years of a bright mantle, I'm feeling neutrals and silver this year.  Sharing this printable I made using PicMonkey which I could sit and play with all day but I have decorating to finish!

It's sized to 8x10 but you can resize smaller if you like. Click on the image to bring to full size, then right click to Save As.

A Shakespeare Halloween: Toil and Trouble Printable

I'm planning on swapping out my Edgar Allen Poe themed mantle for another guy this year. Bill. Will. The Bard. You know "that Shakespeare dude".  It occurred to me that Shakespeare has a lot of quotes and themes that are perfect for Halloween. Some are obvious like Macbeth, which was the inspiration for this printable. A quote from the Three Witches.

I created this one in PicMonkey. You should be able to click on to bring to full resolution, then right click to save as. If you use, I'd love to see how!

New Scrappy Tags Giveaway Winner and Mom/Sister Printables

Remember these? I was giving them away and I never heard back from the original winner so Rafflecopter has picked a new one. Congrats Tiffany!

I was also playing around on PicMonkey again and adapted this saying that I've seen into a printable that can be used for Mother's Day. I also made one with the original version. Since I don't have a sister but I do have a mom (who has sisters and who first told me about this), win-win.

Spring Spring Spring... Printable

Haven't been up to much creatively in the past couple of days.

But it's been a bit Spring like here today, so I whipped up a quick printable in PicMonkey that I thought I'd share.

If you use, I'd love to see how.

Hugs creative peeps.

St. Patrick's Day Printable Using Dingbats

Pinch-001

Just a quick printable for St. Patrick’s Day. Found a really fun personal use “dingbat” font here . The text is a font called Emerald Isle.

If you’re unfamiliar with dingbat fonts, each letter is its own image. So the clover frame is actually the letter d.

a b c d e f g h I j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z

That’s the whole alphabet! Once you install a dingbat font, you can use in any program just like you would any other font, and the images can be resized. I made this printable using My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Software.

I Love The Winter Weather Snowflake and Valentine's Printable

I'm excited to be participating with a bunch of other bloggers in celebrating snowflakes today! Living in the Pacific Northwest we're not guaranteed snow every Winter ( and then we come to a screeching halt when we do get it) and I know there are people in other parts of the country who would gladly forego snow right now. But, there's something just so serene about snow ( especially when you get it infrequently!).

We went up to the mountains to get our snow fix this weekend. Of course as a crafter what did my eyes see by extra fine glitter in twinkling in the snow and dimensional glues and embossing ideas on the trees. Prior to that though, I was inspired to make a printable based on the song "Winter Weather" made famous by Peggy Lee and then by Vanessa Williams.

(Click on image to bring to full size; right click to Save As)

I'm loving chalkboard printables right now so I did this one on a chalkboard background and to make it multi-purpose, I did "LOVE" in red with a chalk outline so I can keep this up ( once I frame it ooops) through Valentine's Day.

I took a little artistic license with the lyrics changing "got my love" to "got your love" but I don't think anyone will mind. And why is this solely a Christmas song?

Old Typewriter Font Mother's Day Printable

I’m trying to be more prepared for Mother’s Day than I was for Easter. To get myself motivated, I came up with this printable that I thought I’d share. Haven’t yet decided if I’ll  re-size and use on my cards. That will depend on whether I run out of time!

MOTHER Printable Onyx-001

I created it using My Memories Suite scrapbooking software and a font called “Old Typewriter”.  You can download the font here. I used a damask background paper that comes w/ the software, and then framed each letter with the scallop circle.

Also made a turquoise version:

MOTHER Printable Turq-001

And a charcoal version using a different paper:

MOTHER Printable Grey-001

And finally, a tangerine version using yet another paper:

MOTHER Printable-001

Clearly I couldn’t decide on just one background paper or color! Click to bring to full size then right click to Save As. You can re-size in any graphics program.

Easter Decor: HOP Printable

I have done absolutely nothing for Easter. True confession time. I still had my St. Patrick’s Day printable in the frame that I change out each month / holiday! What can I say? Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans to decorate for Easter.

I couldn’t let it go another day  so I made a new Easter printable :

HOP Printable
The font I used is called Grolier Beveled which I downloaded free here.

And what’s the fun of making a printable if you don’t share? I went with the orange version here because I usually go so neutral and Mr. Chocolate likes orange. Plus what's a bunny w/out a carrot so he has a carrot orange background! True to form, I made a neutral version just because ….

Natural:

Orange:

Lavender:

Robins Egg:
