BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve and almost October everyone. Fall projects are in full swing so let's see some great ideas from last week's party.

Let's start with these Rustic Fabric Pumpkins from Raven Would. We see lots of velvet ones this time of year but there's something about the lightness of the fabric she used that make these so vintage looking.

A perfect way to welcome Fall is with a sign of course! How about this one from Much More Creative

I love using things for other than their intended purpose. How about using a pie dish for a photo frame? What a great touch to add to your kitchen or as a gift to your favorite baker? Love Inspired Details has...the details.

Who says your crock pot is only for main dishes or savory meals? Not 3 Winks Design who shared this Surprise Fudge Pudding, perfect for cold Fall nights!

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy first day of Fall! My favorite time of the year ( Pumpkin Spice madness aside...yep I'm a hater lol). Let's see some Fall ideas from last week's party!

I love this idea from Olives and Okra. It's a Kitchen Witch apron. Best part is it's made from a panel so it's almost all done for you! How fun would this be for Halloween entertaining?

I've seen a couple ideas combining pumpkins and succulents. What a great way to decorate from now through Thanksgiving? Check out this one from Sugar and Succulents using a faux pumpkin.

Perfect for hostess or neighbor gifts or for yourself, Woods of Bell Trees has a great tutorial on DIY Foaming hand soap. This time of year with germs aplenty, handwashing is KEY!

And while I may not be a pumpkin fan, I think I could be convinced to try these Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes with Nutella Buttercream Frosting shared by Amy aka My Name is Snickerdoodle over at Lolly Jane

Now, onto this week's party!

2016 Halloween: Gothic Pumpkin

I am working on some Halloween decorating and projects and whipped up a couple of fun faux pumpkins this weekend. Not showing the whole table on which these are displayed yet since that will be part of an upcoming sponsored post!

This is an easy peasy project so I didn't take a lot of step by step pics.

Supplies and Steps:
  • Faux pumpkin (small) ($9.99 ea less 60% sale)
  • Glittered leaf bush ($4.99 lesss 50%)
  • Glass Knob (Clearance $.50...yes fifty cents)
  • Scrapbook Paper in gold metallic ($.10 on one of their 10 for $1 sales)
  • Paper Roses (stash)
  • Hot glue / glue gun
With the exception of the paper roses which I had on hand, all other supplies are from Michaels, and of course all supplies were on sale! Total cost to make two pumpkins was $10, or the regular price of one pumpkin.

Faux white pumpkin, glitter leaf bush, glass knob, messy desk

Make 6 rolled paper roses from the gold scrapbook paper, set aside. I used 3 per pumpkin. Pinterest has tons of tutorials on how to make these.

Cut 6 leaves per pumpkin from the bush, hot glue to the pumpkin making a kind of crown. I did 4 (North, South, East, West) and then layered the remaining 2.

I thought these glass knobs were awesome at $1.50 when they first came in but wasn't sure what I'd use them for. When I saw them for $.50 I bought several. I'd come up with something!

Start a hole in the pumpkin stem and then screw in the glass knob. Hot glue three of the rolled roses to the stem and fill in any spaces with the paper roses and voila.

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all! Apologies for oopsing on last week's party. I have a good excuse though. I got whisked away to Disneyland to celebrate our Anniversary. Had so much fun just the two of us. Not that we didn't miss Phd Boy but two kids at heart on the loose had a great time!  And we got to be there when the park was decorated for Halloween.

Here are some highlights from the party the week before last!

Let's start with this cute crocheted wreath from Olives and Okra. Perfect for Halloween! Let the countdown begin!

If you're still getting organized with back to school, this Lolly Jane has a great way to do it with this DIY Wood Caddy

If you're thinking ahead to holiday gifts, you could whip up batches of these glass edged coasters from Love Inspired Details

This week's chocolate features are some treats we enjoyed on our trip! Disney does not disappoint on desserts!

"Darth" Chocolate Mousse at Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland

Chocolate Chip Sundae and Dipped Cone at Gibson Girl Ice Cream on Main Street

Tigger Tails by Marceline's Confectionery

Even though not chocolate, these were the best dessert because our server Kacie at Cafe Orleans treated us to Mickey Beignets to celebrate our Anniversary!

Now, on to this week's party!

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy September! I can't believe I just typed that. It feels like once July started time just sped up. Here are some Fall inspired features from last week's party!

In my neck of the woods, back to school is still after Labor Day. Graceful Coffee has a roundup of DIY back to school ideas including this gorgeous pencil pouch.

Nothing says "Welcome Fall" like the presence of pumpkins. How cute are these Plush Pumpkin Placecards from Woods of Bell Trees? Perfect for Fall entertaining.

Maybe with back to school shopping you have some old jeans laying around. Mich in LA has a great way to re-purpose them into a gorgeous pendant!

With Fall upon us, it's time for Hot Cocoa! How about these Hot Cocoa Bombs! Aren't they cool? Check out Three Winks Design for the how to!

Now, on to this week's party!
