BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve, all. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth! Ours was blissfully quiet. Our big worry is not the noise, but fire danger since we live in a tinderbox, and I still can't believe we sell fireworks everywhere, but we do. Fortunately, nothing scary went down.

Summer is chugging along, but it always seems that from July on out, it's full speed ahead to Fall and December holidays, and there's no time like the present to start getting ready. For example:

If you've ever wanted to make your own Vanilla Extract for your own baking needs or to put in pretty bottles to give as gifts, the time to start is NOW, so it has time to do its thing. Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has the how-to!

Have any Toy Story fans to celebrate? The latest movie was so cute! Hunny I'm Home DIY has not only this Woody Pudding, but a whole Toy Story Party she shared.

Summertime is beach time in many places, and Petticoat Junktion has a perfect way to preserve those beach memories with this Sand and Seashells Beach Jar!

Finally, since Summertime is also travel time, to the beach or otherwise, and finding your bag on the baggage carousel is so much fun (NOT!), these Printable Luggage Tags from Press Print Party will help make it easier!

Whether you're doing staycations or vacations, I hope you continue to have a great Summer!

Happy Friday Eve, all! I can't believe we're almost at the end of June already and you know what today marks? SIX MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! This is not a drill. Time seems to speed up even more from here on out.

Speaking of which, I was in my happy place this week when I stopped in Michaels (a happy place given!) and (I know this will make some eyes ROLL) they have HALLOWEEN! EEK!

I even did a post about it!

But yes, I know it's still Summer, and there were some very fun projects shared at last week's party so let's take a look at a few!

Let's start with this GORGEOUS Lane Cedar Chest Update from Petticoat Junktion. You really have to see the transformation. We're watching the show "Castle Impossible" on HGTV, and it looks like a piece that would fit in one of the rooms!

Fresh Vintage by Lisa S shared how to transform vintage linens into a Vintage Linen Purse

Handmade by Amalia shared how to use fresh flowers to make these BEAUTIFUL Floral Cookies. I wholeheartedly agree with her post title: "Life is Short. Eat the Cookie".

Finally, I keep seeing the "dot cake" trend everywhere. Walking on Sunshine has miniaturized it with these Mason Jar Chocolate Chip Dot Cakes. Why is everything more fun in miniature?

Thanks to all who linked up and can't wait to see what you've been up to this week!

Happy Friday Eve and Happy June! JUNE! How did it get here already?

I hope everyone's had a good week. Mine's been better than recent weeks, and even shared a few things I've had a chance to work on. Met with a new doctor on an ongoing issue that's been frustrating, so that's helped mentally.  I always had this idea that my retired life woud be chill. Instead, it's been one medical thing after another between my mom, husband, me! But fingers crossed, we're done for a while! OK enough whining.

This week I shared:

And now let's take a look at some fun features from last week's party!

The Apple Street Cottage shared how to make a beautiful Stepping Stone from Thrifted Plates

Petticoat Junktion shared how to use Ric Rac in Home Decor after being inspired by current trends.

Master Pieces of My Life shared how to make a Wire Cloche from a Dollar Tree Trash Can

After all that creating, treat yourself to a piece of this delicious Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Coffee Cake from Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Thanks to all who've linked up, and for all of the well wishes as I've been going thru some stuff. Appreciate you and this space remains a haven for me, and I hope for you, too!

Happy Friday Eve, all. And Happy Mother's Day Weekend to all celebrating. I also know it can be a bittersweet day for some, so please be gentle with yourselves. We've had some later-than-usual cloudy and cooler days here in the desert, but I'm about to eat those words because we're supposed to hit 100 soon, and once that happens? Triple digits for a while!

This week, I shared the Mother's Day Cards I made and sent to special Moms in my life, along with a designer-inspired home decor post:

Tulip Mother's Day Cards:

As always, last week's party was filled with fun and inspiring ideas, so here are a few.

Crazy Little Lovebirds shared a lovely way to use a paper towel tube in home decor with this pretty Hello Summer sign.

Petticoat Junktion shared an incredible West Elm inspired  Sofa Table Makeover! Love this.

My French Twist shared this lovely and hilarious DIY Pillow project using a Print on Fabric technique. And...it's reversible!

Finally, Ann's Entitled Life shared an update to a classic dessert with this Boston Cream Poke Cake

Thanks to everyone who linked up and can't wait to see what you have in store this week!

Happy,,,sneeze...Friday...sneeze...All! I've been waiting for the allergy monster to arrive and I think it has found me this week. Son's been struggling in Chicago, too, so "Spring has sprung!" And of course when you are trying not to rub your eyes, that's when they itch even more, right? Needless to say, I didn't get up to much creatively this week. Unless you count crumpled tissues as a project! 🤣

Lots of fun ideas shared at last week's party so let's jump right into a few features.

Petticoat Junktion shared a beautiful Spring Thrifted Makeover! From Vanity Mirror to Wall Decor

Sum of Their Stories shared a fabulous papercraft project. Upcycled Flower Collage from Repurposed Envelopes!

Press Print Party shared a DIY to make FABULOUS Balloon Mosaic Giant Letters! How perfect for Grad season, Showers, Birthdays, Weddings...you name it. At a fraction of the cost.

Even as someone who loves to bake, I love a good "no bake" dessert, and 3 Boys and a Dog has a PERFECT one with these No Bake Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies! YUM!

Whew! Another week basically on the books. I hope everyone who celebrated had a Happy Easter! April is cruising right along. With all of the chaos and stress in the world, it's great to have a creative outlet. I keep seeing articles about what we Makers have always known...picking up an analog hobby (although yes, we have lots of digital/electronic tools too) is a way to refocus ourselves and reduce stress. So knitting, crocheting, sewing, papercrafts, etc.? We were ahead of the curve, right?

An assortment of features from last week's party. Some ideas to Pin for next year, others to try yet this year!

Coffee Filters are such a versatile crafting material, and Steph Creates shared yet another way to use them in this Wild Daisy Wreath

Petticoat Junktion transformed a "seen better days" sale find into this beautiful Side Table, and I definitely vote for the "after" when it comes to the "before and after" which you can see in the post.

Waste not, want not, especially with things being expensive. My French Twist shows how to make Fabric Scrap Twine because where there is fabric, there are always scraps. Perfect to use in other creative projects!

Finally, got leftover Peeps? Save this idea for next year: Instant Pot Rice Krispies Treats using Peeps! From Crystal and Co

Thanks to everyone who linked up and can't wait to see what you've got in store this week!
