Easy Boho Embroidery Hoop Wall Hanging

I've seen these in a few boutiques and thought (like all Makers do) "I can make that". So I did! For some of us old enough to remember fiber and macrame from the 70's, everything old is new again right?

Supplies:
  • Embroidery Hoop , your choice of size. They're inexpensive so buy a few !
  • Yarn of choice. I went with a funky textured grey and cream
  • Felt
  • Glue gun and glue

I bought the chunky gray and cream at JoAnn's and had the other yarns in my stash. I thought I might use all of them but ended up just using the grey and cream. I wasn't going for measured perfection so I roughly measured 3 strands of yarn for each "knot" , folded in half, and then pulled through the loop to attach to the embroidery hoop. I did 9 "knots" each of the cream and grey and made them a little shorter working from the center out.

I had some coordinating felt in my stash so made some rolled roses and then cut some leaves freehand using pinking shears. Attached to the embroidery hoop w/ hot glue. Easy peasy!

Et, voila!

Happy Friday Eve all and Happy Mother's Day weekend to all who are celebrating. Been a crazy week so let's get straight to the features from last week's party.

Let's start with a DIY Basket Makeover from Busy Lifestyle Gal. Would have been tempting to drop this off at Goodwell etc. but look what some spray paint can do. Re-purpose completed!

Here's another easy, fun, DIY from Three Winks Design, a Monthly Magnetic Poster Frame!

If you still need a Mother's Day Card, Suzer Space has you covered with this one which is downloadable and printable!

Finally, if you have some overripe bananas here's a great way to use them up from Treat and Trick :  Cocoa Banana Bars!

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

Happy May all. BTW how did it get to be MAY already?!  I took a much needed little Spring Break last week so didn't do any features but let's take a look at some of the fun ideas that were shared.

I have been in love with Hairpin Leg projects for a while now. I am seriously in love with these DIY Wood Slice Hairpin Leg tables from Kippi At Home

Perfect transition to this next project from Busy Lifestyle Gal, these beautiful Succulent Planters, upcycled from yogurt containers! Real talk: I have bought this yogurt specifically for the glass container but I'm boring and use them to hold my pens. Think I need to get some more!

I keep passing these skeins of GIANT yarn at the store and haven't known what to do w/ them. Now I do. I love these pillows by Yarn Scissors Silk which uses one of the basic knitting stitches I know how to do!

Finally, when I'm not eating chocolate, I'm drinking coffee. OK I combine them and drink iced mochas but these Coffee Biscuits from Treat and Trick look like the perfect pairing with any coffee drink or just on their own!

Now, let's see what you've all been up to this week!

Happy Friday Eve once again and can you believe that this one marks eight months until Christmas? Laugh all you want but how many of us think oh we have all this time to make all the handmade gifts we have in our heads and then BAM where did the time go?

Taking a little vacation break this week so no features. Will  resume next week. Happy Weekend all!

Happy Friday Eve all. Whether you're celebrating Easter, Passover, or nothing this weekend, wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party OK?

I love a good pun and living in the desert, I couldn't resist these Succulent Printables from The Organized Dream

I can't wait to make these for next year. Love love love these Paper Eggs from Paper Seedlings. These are so much fun as shown or as a garland.

What's better than a chocolate bunny? One that doesn't melt and you can put in your garden. Check out these cute plant stakes from Fluster Buster

Finally, if you still need a festive dessert for Easter check out this Chocolate Pistachio Cake from Masterpieces of My Life.  So elegant !

OK then, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

Paint Poured Pendant. Say That Three Times Fast

So, my Chocoholic reading peeps, you know I'm recently obsessed with Acrylic Paint Pouring. I love that no two pieces are alike and it's therapeutic for me to watch the pieces evolve as the paints mix and dry.

It's messy and there will be excess though. Being a waste not want not kind of Maker, I was ECSTATIC to discover that you can do things with the leftovers called "skins", which, if you pour on a non-porous surface like the plastic drop cloth I use, is what the paint forms after it dries and you can peel it off like, well, a skin! Some artists do pours specifically to create the skins for jewelry and mixed media pieces. Once I read about this, of course I had to play.

Supplies:

The hard work is done once you have a skin to work with so this is a super quick project. I punched a few circles from the skin, and chose the one I liked best.

Put a dab of the Diamond Glaze on the bevel blank ( don't flood it just a small dab) and lay in your punched circle. Smooth out to make sure there are no bubbles. I just used a dry Q-Tip. Use a little more Diamond Glaze and then place your glass circle on top. Let dry. You're DONE!

If you don't have a glass blank, you can also flood your bevel with the Diamond Glaze and it will dry to a hard finish. You just won't have the "domed" effect you get with the glass.

Tips:
I cleaned both my bevel blank and glass round with alcohol just because it seemed like a good idea. I also think I'll be using my phone camera more because it takes amazing pictures. Used it for the pendant pic and my camera for the rest and like the phone pic best.

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday eve all! Week's flown by, almost literally, for me. It was super windy here yesterday and hoping that's done with. Hope you all have had a great week! Who's preparing to watch the last season of Game of Thrones starting on Sunday? Huge fan here.

OK let's have a look at some great ideas from last week's party!

With Easter and Passover approaching, eggs are a big decor item. LOVE these Botanical Eggs from Artsy VaVa!

Look how cute this table setting is from Kippi At Home! You really have to check out all of the ideas for a lovely table and this is the KIDS table!

Thrift store makeovers are one of my faves, and this Farmhouse Sign from The Organized Dream is no exception.

Finally, this would make quite the impression as an Easter dessert don't you think? Espresso  Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce from Marilyn's Treats
