BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all and hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's and Galentine's Day.  Some great ideas from last week's party to share.

Springtime is prime time for things like showers and luncheons and I just love this idea from Penny's Vintage Home: A Wood Slice Cake! No calories and love the mossy layers. So many possibilities. You could even use the top layer as a tray for cupcakes.

Lindsey from Repurpose and Upcycle shared her technique for aging Terra Cotta pots which makes them look so chic and like ones you see in places like Pottery Barn . Love!

I love the look of embossed metal to use in cards and mixed media projects, but the actual metal can get pricey. Linda from Paper Seedlings has a great technique using heavy duty aluminum foil and embossing folders. I think I even have this exact embossing folder. So elegant!

Finally, Craftbeering takes one of my favorite desserts, chocolate fondue, up a notch with Hazelnut Brown Ale Chocolate Fondue.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy November everyone! Hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween.

Before we get started on this week's features, just a reminder ( or an FYI) that I have a fun giveaway going that's perfect for the holiday season! The folks at Paperless Post are giving one of my reader a chance to win 1100 coins to use at their site. You can create invites, cards, stationery to send electronically including being able to upload your own images. Details here and the winner will be announced at next week's party!

Thanksgiving is THREE WEEKS away can you believe it? Here are some ideas to get ready for it and for holiday season.

Welcome your Thanksgiving guests to the front door with these Wood Slice Pumpkins from Tiger Strypes

Linda from Paper Seedlings shared a technique for making this gorgeous background she used for a card. Love the colors!

Whether you want to make yourself something for your Thanksgiving hostess outfit or maybe as a gift for your hostess if you're going somewhere, Mich from Mich in LA has got you covered with a wonderful pendant project!

Finally, whether you're looking for an addition to your Thanksgiving desserts or just because, check out this Toblerone Mousse that Cassie's (from Lou Lou Girls) husband made for her! Yes HER HUSBAND MADE FOR HER.

OK now let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

TGIF-eve even though it was a short week. Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th.

Here are a few ideas from last week's party to peruse while everyone shares what they've been working on this week.

I've always been drawn to rocking horses. The older, the better. Absolutely love the way Laura from Junque Cottage made-over this one!

Laura's rocking horse would look great on one of the stenciled floor projects shared by the ladies from Lolly Jane don't you think?

As a cardmaker myself, I can't imagine making a more special card than that of your child's Wedding card. This is the one made by Linda from Paper Seedlings for her daughter's wedding. GORGEOUS!

Now, on to this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a safe and happy start to 2017. My new favorite New Year's Quote is:

"May the best of last year be the worst of this year"
Like everyone else, I'm in the process of evaluating things I want to keep, lose, or change in the New Year. I want to revitalize my blog which has been a little stale so look for some changes. If you have any suggestions please feel free to leave them in the comments!

I want to keep my little party but would definitely like it to grow so if you have friends you want to bring, please do!

Let's see some highlights from last year's last party!

I did one of those "what are the first three words you see" word puzzles and the first word I saw was "peace" so this card from Paper Seedlings definitely caught my eye! Not just because of the word but I love the white on white layering and the detail. Beautiful!

Something I'd like to do more of in 2017 is Thrifting. I love found objects and My Thrift Store Addiction has some wonderful projects and ideas to get you started or re-started!

If like me, you're still getting organized for the New Year, the gals at Lolly Jane have got you covered with 50 FREE printable 2017 calendars.

This week's chocolate feature isn't actually chocolate but it's about chocolate! Love this vintage chocolate ad shared by Vintage TLC . Great as a printable or to use in image transfer project etc.

Now onto this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy August. AUGUST! How did that happen? Hope everyone's had a good week. Mine was crazy busy but just enough time for a few features.

First up, I am in LOVE with this farm house table makeover from Sugar and Succulents. You would pay a fortune for a table like this but this was a complete DIY!

Now, wouldn't this gorgeous Rope Handle Cloche look perfect on that table? I think so. Check out Anderson and Grant for the how-to.

Paper Seedlings has been up to some more collage work and this piece is gorgeous!

This week's Chocolate feature is also a Science lesson. Yes, Science and Chocolate!  Go to class at Sweet Meets Bake Shop

Now on to this week's party!

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope the week has been kind to you and you to it. Chugging along to the middle of May already and Summer will be here before we know it. We've already had some Summer like days up here in the PNW and I think we may be in for a hot one. We're not used to it!

Let's see some ideas from last week's party:

Loving these DIY marbled pots from A Pretty Fix. Super easy to do and the effect is wonderful.

Linda from Paper Seedlings has been working on hand lettering and shared this piece. I love the quote and the way the letters are done.  Please note: this is her original artwork and not for use as a printable!

I don't love scented / flavored lip balm (I just hate smelling and tasting it!) so this unscented DIY version from Woods of Bell Trees is perfect!

Why is it that everything tastes better in a jar? These strawberry desserts from Lou Lou Girls are no exception. With Summer and picnics and outdoor dining season, these are great to store and transport.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all. Welcome to another party. Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, maybe a snack and party on!

Some features from last week's party:

I am a total Harry Potter nut ( some would argue just "nut" would suffice). It was a fun part of Grad School Boy's childhood but not gonna lie, I remain an even bigger fan than he ever was. My bucket list includes a trip to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" ( the SoCal one opens today) so this DIY tote bag from Falon Loves Life is all kinds of perfect!

Of course after a long day at a theme park you'll want to pamper yourself so this Orange Blossom Sugar Scrub from Woods of Bell Trees would definitely do the trick.

Love glitter but hate the mess? Then glitter tape is your friend. This card from Paper Seedlings is a wonderful layout that would work for many occasions. And did I mention glitter?

Finally, this week's chocolate feature from Lou Lou Girls: Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. Say that three times fast.

Now for this week's fun:

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday Eve all and how oh how can it possibly be the last weekend of  January already?! Here are some fantastic ideas shared at last week's party.

Only Artsy VaVa could upcycle a piano! If not only her, she's one of very few who could pull it off. Upcycle. A. Piano.

Speaking of repurposing or upcycling etc. check out this lap tray from Altered Artworks! It's so pretty I wouldn't want to set anything on top of it.

Paper Seedlings shared the most gorgeous card using a detailed die cut. Isn't it beautiful?

Finally, One Little Project At A Time shared an incredible Valentine's Cupcake Roundup. If you can't find a cupcake idea here, it doesn't exist.

Onto this week's party! Hope you all had a wonderful first month of the year.

BFF Open House Link Party #236

Crunch time people! One week until Christmas Eve....EEEEEEEEEEEEK! Are you ready? I'm not.

Here are some ideas from last week's party that you still have time for though!

Love  this card from Paper Seedlings. The little dots around the word "peace"? A happy accident that I think adds a great dimension to the card.

Fantastic on trend makeover from Lou Lou Girls. I love updating and re-purposing pieces I already have.

I love lights and would have them everywhere if left to my own devices. But I hate seeing the cords. Sweetwater Style shared a great post on how to get the lights without the unsightly cords.

I think Santa, or his hardworking Elves would love a batch of these Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies from Strength and Sunshine don't you?

Now, on to this week's party.

BFF Open House #231

The Answer Is Chocolate

Happy Friday eve! Hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. I can't believe we're headed towards Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas so quickly. I was in Michaels on Halloween and there was hardly any Fall stuff in sight. This week's features are a combination of holiday goodness.

This is a two-fer. Pin this fun bracelet for next year's Halloween or as you'll see over at ArtsyVaVa's blog, you can make for other seasons or no seasons at all and make as a holiday gift.

Here's another idea that is perfect as is but also adaptable for gift giving ( I'm thinking how cute would these be for the little one's to make for grandparents!)  Visit The Practical Mom blog for the details.

Doreen from Altered Artworks has a wonderful thrifted project that's perfect for a Fall Front Porch.

Christmas will be here before we know it so if you want to get ahead of things and make some Christmas cards, visit Paper Seedlings for this fun quilted card.

OK now on to this week's party !

BFF Open House #228

The Answer Is Chocolate

Hi all! The countdown to Halloween is upon us....two weeks from Saturday! Here are some ideas from last week's party that are not too late to whip up!

Love these spooky display pedestals from Much More Creative.  You need to see how Brenda pulled a bunch of thrifted pieces together to create these.

Pick up some pumpkins from the Dollar store, add some paint and some googly eyes and you have a Spooky Topiary. Engineer Mommy shows you how.

Linda from Paper Seedlings showed how to make a fun Halloween card using something you'd never guess. Have to visit to find out!

Finally this week's chocolate feature which comes from Anne at Upstate Ramblings. The secret ingredient? Pecan Pie M&Ms! Who knew they even existed?

Now on to this week's party !
