BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all and I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July. It was a late night for us because the illegal fireworks people were shooting off did not agree with the dog nor she with them so it was a "howler" of a night. Given the high fire danger here in the desert that was also a concern but fortunately, all is well.

I also had a chance this week to create something for my new office and because I've had interest in the coffee filter flowers I used in this Oversized Floral Wreath, I will be doing a future tutorial on how to make them so stay tuned!

Let's take a look at some of the creative projects shared at last week's party!

Who grew up with one of these Better Homes and Gardens Cookbooks? I know they've updated but this looks so familiar and everyone I know had one of these in their family kitchen. Lisa, from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S took one and altered it, making it fun while keeping the nostalgic feel.

If you have a fireplace you don't actively use, Kathleen from Our Hopeful Home has a wonderful way to cover it using a beautiful Botanical Print.

Artsy Va Va shared yet another STUNNING piece of furniture she made over. Just GORGEOUS!!

Finally, on a hot Summer day, what's better than lemonade except this delicious looking Frosted Lemonade from the Lou Lou Girls?!

Thank you to everyone who linked up and let's take a look at what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Whew! Here we are at the end of the week again already! And almost to May which seems impossible. Finally had time to play in my craft room and then found myself stuck so have been watching some You Tube videos and trying to learn Inkscape and then finally had an idea for Mother's Day cards which I'm finishing up.

How do you get yourselves creatively un-stuck? I'd love to hear your strategies and if I get enough responses, I'll turn that into a post!

Meanwhile, let's take a look at some of the creativity shared at last week's party!

There is just something about lavender that holds a wide appeal all over the world. Someday I want to visit the lavender fields in Provence, France.  Our last house before we moved from Washington had TONS of lavender bushes and I would cut and dry bunches. I wish I'd thought to do what Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S did with this beautiful Lavender Wreath!

Tonna, from Sew Crafty Crochet shared not only a gorgeous wreath but a great way to use up bits of leftover yarn by making a bunch of crocheted flowers.

Summer will be here before we know it ( OK it's already supposed to be in the 90's today here in the desert..."Spring") so you'll want to check out not only this cute Hello Summer printable from Creatively Beth, but she also has 15 more! Free!

Finally, maybe you're planning a Mother's Day Brunch or like me, you have a freezer full of blueberries. Either way, this Farmhouse Blueberry Coffee Cake from Mom The Lunch Lady is a must try recipe!

OK peeps, let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Happy Spring, officially! It's kind of hard to tell here in the desert but I guess it's when it's still below 100! I used to tease my Mom and friends who lived here before us about being cold in temperatures that other parts of the country would consider far from it. Now I'm on the receiving end when I tell our son that "it's cold" as he lives in Chicago and reminds us what cold really is.  Karma!

Easter is early this year and I haven't really done any decorating or new Easter projects. I did a little roundup of different ways to use plastic eggs here.

But, I did grab this free cut file from Creative Fabrica today that I'm going to play with! If you don't know , they have daily freebies but they are only free for one day. Fonts, graphics, SVGs. It's a great way to build a library. They also have a weekly freebie and periodically offer free bundles. I'm not an affiliate so this is just me sharing.

OK! Let's take a look at some of the wonderful projects shared at last week's party.

MaryJo from Masterpieces of My Life shared her gorgeous Easter Tablescape, the centerpiece of which are beautiful Mercury Glass eggs! I love the moss bunnies and accents.

Penny, from Penny's Vintage shared her festive Spring Kitchen so you have to check out the whole thing but I especially love these fabric carrots! This gives me some ideas how to use up lots of scraps I have from mask making!

Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S shared a treasure trove of German Paper Mache Easter Eggs she found while thrifting. What wonderful vintage keepsakes!

Finally ( and we're all adults here right) I give you these "Better Than Sex" cupcakes shared by the Lou Lou Girls! I think they speak for themselves!

Alright! Let's see what everyone's been up to this week! Happy Passover to those celebrating!

BFF Open House Happy Thanksgiving

First of all, whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or flying solo this year, I'm thankful that each week you all choose to spend a little time here sharing your talent and creativity and hope you've had a peaceful day. As we gear up for peak Maker season, I also hope you remember to get some rest and practice self care!

Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S shared a fabulous way to use gift bags as art. There are so many beautiful ones out these days in every style and color palette!

I think most of us have made paper snowflakes in our lives but Priyam from Simple Joys has taken this idea to an elegant grown up level with these paper medallions. A bunch of these as a garland or hanging from a light fixture would transform a space into a Winter Wonderland! You also need to see her paper Christmas Trees!

I'm old school and still make all my Christmas and Hanukkah cards and always appreciate the beauty of a handmade card, such as this one from Linda at Paper Seedlings. Layered with multiple elements, this is one that the recipient will truly feel special to receive.

Finally, these Rose Frosted cookies from Family Cookie Recipes are so elegant and pretty. I need to up my cookie game!

OK now that you're stuffed, let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all! It's hard to believe that two weeks from now is the annual stretching of the pants day known as American Thanksgiving wherein we cook for two days to consume a meal in 20 minutes! It's tradition, and wouldn't have it any other way. I know it will be different for many this year, being unable to gather with all of the extended family so hopefully by next year that can return.

In the meantime, let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party!

Whether as an addition to your own decor or to make as a gift, Lisa, from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has the cutest idea for a repurposed alarm clock.

I think nothing makes a tablescape stand out better than having some depth. Stillettos and Shiplap shared how to make this fabulous table riser to take your festive tablescapes up a notch.

If you're a jewelry maker and looking for a great gift idea ( or for yourself!) check out this beautiful Rope Necklace from Michelle at My Bijou Life.  She's got a step by step tutorial.

Finally, from The House on Silverado, check out these decadent and delicious looking Milk Chocolate Toffee Shortbread Bars! I can't stop staring at them.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House

Hi friends! Not only can I not believe it's Friday Eve again, I can't believe it's Halloween Weekend already even though it will be a different Halloween this year for sure. I know that it will be creative! Some great ideas from last week's party. Let's take a look at a few!

I can't wait to try this fun Eyeball Plant that Jennifer from Stuido 27 shared. I saw some similar pre-made ones but think of all the possibilities making your own in whatever colors you like!

Not only is this Mudcloth Pumpkin Pin Cushion from Sara at Birds of a Feather pretty and practical, she shows you how you can make your own mudcloth fabric! A two in one.

After Halloween, it's full speed ahead to Christmas and these Vintage Ornament Wood Blocks from Lisa at Fresh Vintage by Lisa S are filled with retro goodness!

Finally, check out these Pumpkin Mocha Latte Bath Bombs from Jasmine at Eccentricities by JVG would make a great self care treat ( we all need to be practicing that during this crazy year) or as gifts right? Love the design.

Alright, let's see what genius creations you've been up to this week !

BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope you've had a great week. Unfortunately, here in the desert we continue to spike in COVID cases, now leading the nation which is not a goal I think we ever wanted to achieve :(
Needless to say, sticking close to home which means more creative time. My most recent project and new addiction is here: New Addiction Modern Quilling

Let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party!

Unique Creations by Anita shared this FABULOUS Steampunk Lamp. So cool for an Industrial look or accent piece. I've seen similar pieces at Art Fairs for a lot of money so being able to make your own is wonderful using assorted plumbing pieces and ephemera in your stash.

If you can't get to the beach, maybe you have some shells around the house or can order some online to bring a little of the beach inside like Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S did. The combination with succulents is indeed a fresh take!

This Exfoliating Whipped Soap from Eccentricities by JVG looks good enough to eat ( so if you have littles in the house you might want to put out of reach!). Make a batch for yourself or what great gifts they'd make.

I can't get this picture bigger w/out getting it blurry but couldn't resist featuring this Snickers Martini from Cindy's Online Recipe Box. This is definitely meant to be consumed!

Now let's see what you've been up to this week!
