BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve all and to all of you in the path of the Polar Vortex...I hope you're staying inside, warm, pipes aren't frozen etc.  PhD Man ( Son ) is smack in the center of it in Chicago and despite is telling him to stay put yesterday just had to go pick up his comics that are released every Wednesday.  Layered up in long underwear, two layers of pants, four shirts, his heaviest coat, boots, scarves two hats and a hood lol. Reminded my of the little brother from "A Christmas Story"

Image result for a christmas story can't put my arms down

I guess you don't want to hear it's in the high 60's 70's here in the desert? Don't worry. We'll get ours in the Summer when we're living on the Sun.

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

If you're looking for last minute ideas for your Super Bowl party this weekend, Leslie over at From Play Dates to Parties has got you covered with free printables!

If you're not much into the big game and want to craft something, Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has a great upcycle. Perfect for any leftover gift tins you may have from Christmas.

Check out these faux leather earrings from Try It Like It.  These were made using the Cricut Maker but could also be done either freehand or using dies I'm sure.

Finally, one thing I really want to do is be able to attend a blog conference or two.  A Labour of Life has taken the time to help us all out and make a list of upcoming conferences. I recently attended a blogger meetup in advance of Creativation and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow creatives and bloggers and I look forward to doing more of it!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope you've survived the week. I have, barely, but fortunately taking tomorrow off and told my day job to lose my cell number.

Let's see some projects from last week's party!

I am a total coffee queen. So this coffee tray from Lisa at Fresh Vintage by Lisa S definitely caught my eye! Love!

If you've seen teal pumpkins in the stores it's not just because it's a fun color to play with . Teal pumpkins let your Trick or Treaters know that you have non-food options available to them. This is a very important thing for those with food allergies and makes Halloween more inclusive for children who have them. Learn more and check out these ideas at Kippi At Home

Do you have something on hand that you would love to make into something else? Using a mold is an easy way to do that. Sheri, from Hazel and Gold Designs shows you how to use a silicone putty to do just that!

Finally, how cute are these Spiderweb Cookies from Family Cookie Recipes

Now, let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve once again. Best day of the week! Not only because tomorrow's Friday but because I get to see all the wonderful creativity you share each week.

Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

Leanna from Faeries and Fauna is back with another wonderful project. This one modeled on a clam basket. Large baskets are hard to find and when you do they can get pricey so I love that you can make this and make it any size you choose!

Who doesn't have an empty tissue box? Save your next one to make this Upcycled Halloween Candy Container from Marie at DIY Adulation.

I have been in love with Velvet Pumpkins since I first saw them but Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has now added Velvet Acorns which take things to another level! She did these in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I know this is the time of year that Pumpkin lovers rejoice, so all of you who are need to check out these gorgeous Pumpkin Spice Cake Balls from Butter With A Side of Bread

Now let's see what you've all been up  to this week. Thank you for visiting!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all and welcome to the last party of August! Can you believe it's September in a couple of days? I cannot. We're finally moved in and manically unboxing.

Let's take a look at some ideas shared at last week's party OK?

I'm smitten with the Industrial look that's so popular right now but even DIY'ing it can add up. Would you believe these are PVC? Much cheaper than buying metal and looks just as good! From Domestic Deadline

With Fall around the corner ( although this will be a different one for me...first one in the desert) how about a great sign idea from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S made from scrap pallet wood?

Gold is everywhere in home decor right now but you don't need to run out and by new pieces. Update them, like Repurpose and Upcycle did with one of my favorite things, Rub N Buff!

Finally, after all that creating, Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies are always a good idea. From A Day of Small Things

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week !

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope everyone's had a good week. It kind of flew by for me but in a good way. Getting soooo close to being all settled in our new place! Will be great to have all of my creative stuff surrounding me again. Let's see some ideas from last week's party.

Let's start with this French Farmhouse Style Vintage Footstool from Follow The Yellow Brick Home. I need to make something like this for my new office. Propping your feet up takes pressure off your back and I sit too much all day and have struggled w/ back problems. This will fit right in with my new office!

Who can ever get enough pillows? Not me! So this one from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S definitely caught my eye. It's made from  cloth napkins!

Faeries and Fauna shared this lovely vignette featuring DIY Coffee Signs. Both the style and the fact that it involves anything coffee caught my eye!! Love this tiered stand.

Finally, these Reeses Pretzel Bars from Butter With a Side of Bread look delicious! With Fall right around the corner, they would make a wonderful Fall treat don't you think?

Now, let's see what you've all been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope you've had a creative week. Got my soon to be new office accent wall finished and did some stenciling so sometime in the future you'll get to see. In the meantime, here are some features from last week's party!

Who doesn't love a good IKEA hack? Loving this Farmhouse look from Hannah at Handmade Weekly. I would never have guessed this was brand new from IKEA.

Who says a chicken feeder only has to be used for chicken feed? Lisa, from Fresh Vintage By Lisa S, transformed an old one into a great succulent planter but kept the original purpose associated by stenciling it. Cute!

I'm going to have a lot of wall space to cover and always appreciate a DIY idea. Carol from The Red Painted Cottage has a great tutorial on making Watercolor Canvases using Watercolor Grounds.

Finally, what's better than a two-bite brownie ( or 5 or 6 lol) ? A Lowfat Two Bite Brownie like these from This Happy Mommy, made using Greek Yogurt. YUM!

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to !

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all. Welcome to another party here at The Answer Is Chocolate.

Happy to say we have found a place of our own here in Arizona and looking forward to having my own creative space once again in the not too distant future. Not only that but it is a blank slate that I will be able to play with and probably have more ideas in my head than I'll have time for!

Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

Let's start with these fab yard sale finds, made over into these gorgeous chairs from Artsy Va Va.  The combination of chalk paint and image transfers is a winning combination!

Next up is also a chair makeover just not the way you'd think. Lisa from Fresh Vintage By Lisa S found a curbside freecycle chair that wasn't usable as a chair. Being resourceful, she broke it down and used the salvageable parts to make TWO great projects, the first one the business card holder shown above.

She used another piece to make this background for a bud vase holder. And she has pieces left over for more ideas!

With 4th of July approaching, these Patriotic Swirl cookies from Family Cookie Recipes would be a wonderful addition to any picnic basket or dessert table.

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all. Hope you all have had a great week and looking forward to a festive Father's Day weekend! As always while I'm on limited craft time, I enjoy looking at your creations each week so here are a few ideas from last week's party!

Really loving this Milking Stool Makeover from The Painted Hinge ! Michelle is even sharing the printable she used for the image transfer.

I also really love this Re-Purposed Wood Garden Caddy that was shared by Lisa at Fresh Vintage By Lisa S . She got the stenciling PERFECT!

I love a good knockoff and this Tobacco Basket from Our Hopeful Home is a great version of one inspired by Ballard Designs.

Finally, with Fourth of July quickly approaching I love the festive simplicity of these Red White and Blue Cookies from Butter With a Side of Bread. Two colors of chocolate melts and the gold stars really take these store bought cookies to a new level!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve and welcome to another link party! Can you believe it's June tomorrow? I can't! Here are some features from last week's party.

With Summer right around the corner garden parties and Summer entertaining are on the menu. Take things up a notch with this gorgeous Rose and Lavender Ice Bucket from Satsoma Designs.

Also great for outside decorating is this Weathered Galvanized Bucket idea from Fluster Bluster.

If you want to switch things up inside, how about changing up some light switch covers like this Steampunk idea from Surviving A Teacher's Salary

Finally, with Summer on the horizon, so are lots of Farmer's Markets, flea markets etc. and you can always use another bag. See what Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S did to transform these basic burlap bags from the the 99 Cent Store.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve and the start of what I hope is a lovely Mother's Day weekend. I won't be with my "baby" but I'm so excited that for the first year in many I get to celebrate with The Mumster.

Let's take a look at some fun ideas from last week's party.

I feel like you can never have too many memo boards. Whether for reminders or pictures, there's always something you want to display. Hazel and Gold Designs has this fun idea (and a video tutorial) for one using bent wire formed into a word. Think of all the possibilities! Names, favorite places etc.

I tend toward matte finishes so I love the look of chalk paints. From Play Dates to Parties  has 4 great project ideas using chalk paint.

I love that Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S figured out what to do with Vintage Glass Insulators that I've picked up and put down at flea markets a million times. Check out her adorable bottle and light garden!

Finally, YUM check out this did I say YUM Oreo Parfait from A Sprinkle of Joy! Yes please.

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!
