BFF Open House

Happy Friday Eve and Mid-September all. I still have to look at the calendar to be reminded that it's Fall here in the desert because it's 97 degrees as I write this and I'm dreaming of when I can wear boots and sweaters.

Got the post-surgical all clear to resume whatever I feel up to including driving so I ventured out solo the other day for the first time in five weeks and of course where did I go? Dollar Tree! I was itching to see what cute Halloween stuff they had to play with and wasn't disappointed. I'm on the hunt for a Halloween tree to decorate this year and got some very cool ornaments to use when I find the right one. I'm sure by the next time I go they'll be knee deep in Christmas!

Before we get that far ahead though, let's take a look at some of the great ideas from last week's party!

Can you ever have too many pumpkins on display this time of year? Especially Glitter Pumpkins like these from A Life of Balance? Now's the time to pick up those faux pumpkins before they're gone.

I've seen some fashion ads featuring painted jeans and they can of course get pricey. Being DIYers though, of course our first thought is "How can I do that?" and Love My Little Cottage has got us covered with a tutorial. How cute are these?

Look at this fabulous Coffee Table from A Life Unfolding made from...wait for it...a vintage CHICKEN CRATE! I love it. And on wheels!

Finally, Cindy's Online Recipe Box is back with another spectacular Fall cookie idea. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Rake Cookies that look 3D!

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week and thanks to everyone who linked up!

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope you've had a good week and for those of you settling back into a school routine, hope that's going smoothly. Anxiously waiting for temperatures to cool some here in the desert but we're still in triple digits so my sweater and boot envy of those of you in cooler weather is strong. Fall is my favorite weather season of the year.

Lots of wonderful ideas linked up at last week's party so let's take a look at some of them!

Love this DIY Cake Stand idea from Makeable Crafts that also works as a great way to display things.

Beautiful Early Fall idea from Masterpieces of My Life that shows how to transition to Fall without jumping right into Pumpkins etc. Love it!

With gourd and craft fair season upon us, these Gourd Lanterns from The Apple Street Cottage are STUNNING!

Finally, how cute are these Acorn Cookies made from mini cookies, kisses and chips?! A special treat for sure and you don't have to be a baker because they're no bake! From Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Thanks to everyone who linked up and let's see what everyone's been up to this week !

Happy Friday Eve ! We're already at the final weekend of July which is hard to believe. I've really enjoyed what has clearly become a more widespread tradition of Christmas in July and now I need to start acting on some of the great ideas I've seen but my creating time has again been limited by the realities of life. This was supposed to be the year that I got my "act" together and focused on branding but "life is what happens when you're busy making other plans".

Lots of great ideas shared at last week's party so let's take a look at a few!

If you don't have a lightbox in your tools, then you should! Years ago I had a really bulky one but they are so sleek and slim now and my next "treat myself" will be the newest one from Cricut which is the cordless Bright Pad. They're invaluable for everything from tracing, to weeding vinyl to as An Artful Mom showed in her post, using for hand lettering. Perfect for cardmaking or home decor!

Got scraps? Paper scraps, ribbon scraps, fabric scraps, fiber scraps? Check out what Fresh Vintage by Lisa S did with a bunch of her with these wonderful Paper Snippet Rolls! I've seen similar ones at vintage shops and craft fairs (in the before times pre-pandemic!) and they can get pricey so I love the idea of making your own and goodness knows, I have all the materials!

If you're looking for inspiration for a bedroom makeover, look no further than this beautiful one from The House on Silverado. So elegant and beautiful!

Finally, if you're like me, the best part of a muffin is the top! So these Chocolate Fudge Muffin Top Cookies from Cindy's Online Recipe Box are just perfection!

OK Creative Peeps...let's see what you've been up to this week!

Happy Friday Eve once again everyone. Can you believe we're already halfway through July already?! What a difference a month makes. This time last month, I was just out of the hospital and we were in the process of getting a move underway. Now, pretty settled in and finally getting back to being able to make some things.

This week I shared my new Craft Room as well as a Layered "Moonogram" (Moon themed Monogram) project.

The craft stores are filling up with Fall themed goodies and you know that means that Halloween and Christmas won't be far behind!

Let's take a look at some ideas from last week's party!

There is a LOT of Christmas in July inspiration in Craftworld (as well as The Hallmark Channel) and I love this idea shared by The Apple Street Cottage using a wood round to make a festive and beautiful wreath.

Even if you're not yet making Christmas crafts, it's the perfect time to start thrifting for pieces and supplies that you will want to incorporate into your decor. I've noticed some thrift shops have gotten in on the theme by highlighting their Christmas items. Master Pieces of My Life has got a post full of inspiration and ideas for things to start looking for  NOW!

Switching gears...check out these desserts that are perfect for any time of year because chocolate is year round! This No Bake Caramel Coconut Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert from The Kitchen Is My Playground is perfect for a hot Summer day!

Finally, what is better than a perfect fudgy frosted Brownie? This is just how I love them...with that bit of gooeyness in the middle. No wonder these are a favorite of Cindy's grandson from Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Now, let's see what all of you wonderfully creative people have been up to this week!

So many Happys this week! Happy March! Happy National Craft Month! Happy Spring! Hopefully the worst of Winter is over and Spring is around the corner. Both exciting and hard to believe that we're already into the third month of the year. Even harder is that it's been a full year of COVID but let's not talk about that except to celebrate that hopefully we're starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

OK you creative peeps! So many wonderful ideas shared last week. Here are a few to get you in full Spring mode!

Maybe you have an old piece of silverplate like this stashed away in a cabinet. I know I'm going to look for one next time I get the chance because I love these non-traditional Easter Baskets from Junk Journal. Perfect for any decor from Farmhouse to Contemporary.

These Paper Butterflies from Priyam at Simple Joys just scream Spring don't they? Perfect for everything from garlands to package toppers.

Linda, from Paper Seedlings made this adorable Name Sign for her grandson Enzo, whose name I love. I think it's such an adorable keepsake to treasure!

Is it a Donut? Is it a Cake? It's a Giant Chocolate Fudge Brownie  Donut Cake! Perfect for St. Patrick's Day, a Spring shower (as in baby or bridal) or anytime! From Cindy's Online Recipe Box

Finally, this one hits home. Trinidadian Pepper Sauce from Kiku Corner. I grew up with this. There was always a jar of this on the table in my family's and extended family's homes. It was often a bit of a trick test when new people said they liked spicy food. We would watch as people took too much (after being warned) and then they proceeded to melt. Literally. This is extra special to me because the recipes my family had were never written down. There were always promises to but the elders were not so good at following through and the last person who could have shared, we've lost to dementia. So this is extra special to me.

Alright! Let's see what you've all been up to this week and as always, thank you to everyone who linked up!

Welp. August is both flying by and standing still like the rest of 2020. Hope you've all had a wonderful and creative week. I've been working on some Halloween stuff, trying to get ahead of things this year since I have some more time on my hands.

Let's take a look at some of the wonderful ideas shared at last week's party!

Card making remains my first love and like Antonella from White House Crafts, I love finding and using 12x12 pads which usually contain a few pages of panels you can use as the focals of your cards. Mr. Chocolate won't believe him if I say I don't have this cute collection in my collection and need to remedy that!

Eccentricities by JVG shared how to make a pretty and practical Diffuser Bracelet. These work w/ body heat to release scent and can be used w/ essential oils.

Southern Sunflowers shared a wonderful makeover of a box sign thrifty find and is also sharing the printable she made and used!

Finally, Cindy's Online Recipe Box shared this adult version of a banana split via this Frozen Banana Split Cocktail. Oh my!

Happy Friday Eve all! Tomorrow is Friday right? Having completed my first month of retirement, I can see how people lose track of the days! Not complaining though! Hope you all survived another week safely and creatively. I am having so much fun continuing to explore all of the possibilities of Quilling. My most recent project is here: Quilled Monogram . Now, let's see what you've been up to this week!

Hannah from Handmade  Weekly shared something that's timely for me : Candle Making for Beginners. We love candles but they get expensive so I've been thinking about making my own.

Lisa from Condo Blues shared how to re-purpose aluminum cans into pendants that can go on a necklace. There are so many drinks out that come in pretty cans, the possibilities are endless !

With so many of us still hunkering down at home, Summer camping may not be on the calendar this year but The House on Silverado has a wonderful idea for a camping dinner ( I think this qualifies as "glamping" ) at home including Toasted S'Mores Martinis for dessert.

Finally, Cindy's Online Recipe Box is back with one of my favorite combinations: Chocolate and Coconut in her Almond Joy Cupcakes! Oh yes please!

Alright, let's see what you've been up to this week!
