Ribbon and Jump Rings Necklace

Ribbon Rings Necklace

Sometimes the idea for something comes when you aren’t trying so hard to think of one. At least that’s true for me. I am one of those people who likes scrounging around in the clearance section of places like Michaels which is what prompted this project. I found this pre-made ribbon and cord necklace by Bead Landing for $1.99!

Ribbon Necklace Supplies

The Darice beads and jump rings I already had in my stash from one of those previous scroungy trips. This was super super easy to make.

I strung some of the biggest jump rings onto the necklace ( over all of the ribbons/cord). Added as many as I felt like which ended up being eleven.

Then I put some of the Darice beads on a large jump ring and attached to some of the rings already on the ribbon.  In my stash, I found some leftover washers from a Washer Charm Bracelet I made last year with washers from The Dollar Tree, and put those on a couple of the large jump rings, and then added one more bead/ring combo to the middle jump ring on the ribbon. Added a toggle clasp to each end.

Grape, Gold, and Chocolate Necklace

This is the gift that I made to go along with the birthday card I shared a couple of days ago.
Grape Gold Chocolate Necklace
I went shopping in my stash which Mr. Chocolate would tell you means I don’t need to go to Michaels or JoAnn’s for the rest of the year. HA
Main components: Bead Landing gold chain ( Michaels), an antiqued gold toggle clasp that I picked up @ JoAnn’s, and the pendant is from Blue Moon’s Global Nomad collection.
Bead Landing Chain
The beads are faceted crystal I picked up on a couple of different trips. Hubs is used to me scoping out bead, paper, art stores wherever we go on vacation!
I wasn’t sure what I was going to do when I started so I made some different combos using head pins or bead caps and strung some spacer beads ( all of the findings are from Blue Moon) on larger jump rings.
Grape, Gold, Closeup
I ended up spacing some of the beads throughout the chain and using others with the pendant. I liked the combo of the chocolately brown pendant with the deep grape of the beads. The other beads are an iridescent light brown that pick up the gold from the chain , the brown from the pendant and the purple from the other beads.
It’s for a cousin who’s really more like an Auntie to me. I hope she likes it!

Mixed Metal Madness

Thank You Bev!!

Thank You Megan!!

I haven’t made any jewelry in a while and have been seeing gorgeous mixed metal chain necklaces everywhere. Being a sufferer of the condition, ICTMTM ( I Can Totally Make That Myself)  I decided to play around.
I started out with some metal chain from Bead Landing ( Michaels)

And got out some other supplies from my stash:

I had some pewter “pearls” from a previous project and some big white “pearls” I picked up because they were there. Since I wasn’t sure where I was going w/ this, I didn’t take pics along the way.
I mixed different lengths of the large chain in the middle of the first picture with the dark chain on the left, attaching on either side with jump rings to some other chain I had in my stash.

I strung some of the pearls on head pins and attached them to the middle link of each layer of the necklace.
