BFF Open House Link Party

Hi all and Happy Spring!  A much calmer week for me workwise so this week's party is on time and with features! Hope you all have had a wonderful start to Spring and those of you in the Northeast aren't dealing with too much snow.

My name twin Carol from The Red Painted Cottage shared how to bring some Spring inside with her gorgeous tiered tray.

Crystal, from Surviving a Teacher's Salary ( hear hear ) shared this natural planter using a found tree branch,  moss, and air plants.

Artsy VaVa is back with a gorgeous Easter Egg bouquet showing off her painting talents once again because she hand painted those eggs! Wouldn't these be fun to put with your Easter dinner table settings ?

Sugar Spice and Family Life shared these Peanut Butter Cup STUFFED Chocolate Cookies ( drooling...not gonna lie). With Reeses PB Eggs everywhere right now thinking you could even use those to stuff these cookies! Not that I go overboard or anything.

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all and welcome to another week's opportunity to share what creative things you've been working on. Hope you're staying warm ( or in our case, up here in the PNW, dry).  Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

The holiday decorations may all be put away but it's still nice to have a touch of Winter in our inside decor. We still have our Gingerbread Cottage up and it will remain all Winter. I love these DIY Icicle Candle Holders – Winter Luminaries With Snowy Pinecones from Sew Historically.

I also love the monochromatic simplicity of this Winter White French Farmhouse Mantel from My Thriftstore Addiction that includes more re-purposed Christmas decor.

Artsy VaVa shared this awesome cooler ( made by her friend Chuck) that she painted for him using stain. I love how the stain lets the grain of the wood shine through.

No chocolate feature this week but I am drooling over these Homemade Baked Sugar Doughnuts from Brooklyn Farm Girl. Simple perfection!

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Yikes! How is it Friday Eve again already? Excited to have my son home from Grad School for the holidays. Already baked the first two dozen of several more dozen cookies to follow.

Here are some great ideas it's not too late to whip up or pin for next year.

Love these rustic and rusty ornaments from Artsy Va Va! Great additions to your tree or to make as gifts. Would you guess they aren't metal?!

Vintage holiday decorations are so special. Whether they've been handed down from older family members or found while thrifting, I think there's something so special about preserving them. My Thrift Store Addiction has some gorgeous ideas.

Christmas cards are starting to roll in and Repurpose and Upcycle has a wonderful way to display them.

Finally, with my young man home for a couple of weeks, I see making these in my immediate future. From Craft Beering, Stout Walnut Brownies. YUM!

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Another very tough week for our country folks. No words. I hope this little party is a bit of respite from the news of the world.

DIY art? Check. Alcohol ink? Check. Technique? Fire. Yes you read that right. FIRE! You really have to check this out (and my husband is going to think I'm off my nut when I eventually try this) AMAZING idea from Sharon and Alex. The effect is a combination of marbling and faux fused glass. My mind reels with the possibilities!

Let's go from fire to rust. Loving what Artsy Va Va did with a piece of old rusty metal. Being a total sucker for white pumpkins, I adore this piece. The elegance of the pumpkins against the aged rusted metal. Gorgeous!

I like decor that can go past one holiday or season. This beautiful arrangement by Jenny Louise Marie does the job, combining dried hydrangeas and faux florals with seasonal pumpkins that can go all the way through Thanksgiving, and housed in a fantastic old wooden dough bowl.

Even though we are not big entertainers, every year I look at all of the amazing barware at places like Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma but can't justify the price . These DIY Skeleton Goblets from Bird's Party are just the solution to that problem!

OK let's see what everyone's been up to this week and thanks for taking time out of your week to stop by!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve once again! Sent my "baby" back to grad school this week to get ready for what will be his first year in the classroom as a TA working w/ undergrads. I am so thankful that we have a son who is off on his own as we raised him to be, but who also loves to come home and spend time with us!

Let's take a look at some of the great ideas shared at last week's party.

I love books and reading and always have, so it's no surprise that I would also love book crafts and decor featuring books. Simply September shared some great ideas about incorporating books and book pages into decor. Love!

The ladies from Lolly Jane shared a guest post from Pocket Full of Paint that I think is just stunning and looks like something you find in a pricey boutique. Check out this beautiful leather hanging. Not too early to start thinking of handmade gifts!

Speaking of handmade gift ideas, Artsy VaVa shared a great one. A DIY Dried Flower Phone Case! How cool is this?

Finally, while I'm featuring these adorable chocolate cupcakes from Nightchayde, you have to see the ADORABLE Woodland Shower these came from. Everything , from the invites, to the food, to the decor is too cute!

OK let's see what you've been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all. Hope everyone's had a wonderful week. I've been on vacation and spending it with my Mom and son which is an incredible blessing. Time flies by so quickly and opportunities like like this are to be treasured.

Let's see some of the great ideas shared at last week's party.

Let's start with these Beer Bottle Tiki Torches from Craft Beering. You could use any fun bottles for these and imagination is the only limit!

Artsy VaVa is back with another fabulous transformation this time with a church pew into a gorgeous bench!

I haven't tried my hand at soapmaking but I do have a bunch of lavender on hand so this Oatmeal Lavender Handmade Soap from 3Winks Design looks like a perfect project to try.

Finally, love both the name and ingredients in this Can't Wait Microwave Lava Cake from Culinary Envy

Now, let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope everyone's had a wonderful week and Spring is acting like it in your neck of the woods. Here in the PNW we've had seveal days of every kind of weather except snow lately. I'm talking in the same day. Sunny then rainy then thunder then sunny. Lather rinse repeat.  Let's see some ideas from last week's party!

LOVE this Spring tablescape from Much More Creative using pedestals she made. Even though Easter is over, this is perfect for the rest of Spring. I am a sucker for anything on a pedestal.

How fabulous would those pedestals look on top of this amazing farm table Artsy VaVa shared? More amazing? HER SON MADE IT. Yes I needed to put that in all caps. HE MADE IT! If he ever decides to stop being an Architect, he's got a calling right? Not surprising he's got such a great eye with a mom as creative as he has.

Any pet parents out there? I have an older dog who would love to snuggle in this Pampered Pooch Pocket from Kileen at Raven Would. Who wouldn't feel cozy in this and even if your sewing skills are limited ( like mine) it looks pretty straightforward.

YUM is all I have to say about these Chocolate Kiss Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies from Sugar Spice and Family Life

Now let's see what everyone's been up to this week!

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy whatever day of the week this is! It's been a whirlwind with some family stuff and work stuff and just stuff stuff! Hope everyone's had a less hectic week.

Let's jump right into some awesome ideas shared at last week's party!

Spring is the time for eggs. Whether you are celebrating Easter or Passover or just the renewal of Spring,  egg symbolism abounds. I am in LOVE with these CEMENT ( yes I said cement) eggs from Kileen at Raven Would. Cement! And I love the nests she made for them as well.

Speaking of nests, you how creative is this idea from Artsy VaVa? Look at that cool gumball machine! Swoon.

How sweet is this Button Bunny from 3 Winks Design? Love the combination of buttons and colors.

"How do you like your eggs?" .... "Covered in chocolate!" So these Vegan Peanut Butter Eggs definitely belong in my basket. From Sew Historically:

Now, let's see what you've been up to THIS week !

BFF Open House Link Party

Happy Friday Eve all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day or Galentine's Day the day before or both! There were so many LOVEly (see what I did there)  ideas shared at last week's party. So here are some great ideas to pin for next year!

Let's start with this gorgeous altered canvas print from ArtsyVaVa. The print was great but I really like how she altered it.

Speaking of altered, how about these Valententine Art Heart Tartlets from Lynda Creates

Not all hearts have to be red . I love the simplicity and color of this necklace from Thistlewood Farms.

Of course, what's Valentine's Day without chocolate. How about these Hidden Heart Chocolate cupcakes from Sugar Spice and Family Life! Look at that frosting!

Now on to this week's party!

BFF Open House Link Party

Hi all. Happy Thursday / Friday Eve and welcome to this week's party. Here are some Thanksgiving inspired features from last week since it will be here before you know it!

Let's start with "Hooty" the Baking Owl from Artsy VaVa. You don't have to be a baker to love what she did with these baking pans!

Not only do I love this checkered banner from Lolly Jane, it's REVERSIBLE so you can use for multiple occasions.

I've been so lazy ever since Windows Live kinda went sideways on me. That's how I used to watermark my pics and now when I remember, I do it manually in PicMonkey. So this tip from My Messy Little Nest is perfect. I need to do this!

Now for this week's chocolate feature:

Every year, I'm on the hunt for how to "chocolate-i-fy" Thanksgiving. I pinned this awesome looking Bittersweet Chocolate Pumpkin Tart from Love and Olive Oil.  Even someone like me who is not fond of pumpkin could tear into this don't you think?

On to this week's party!
